I'm not sure where you're coming from, but I'm sure it will take awhile on a 10 speed. Maybe I should brush up on my Muay Thai Leg Kick of Death Defense...

FAIL

besides, reggie isnt even funny anymore, and i hate him cuz hes a liar and ripped me off by 5 bucks

So my girlfriend started doing BJJ on the 19th. Woo! She suffers from a lot of anxiety in the gym; she freaks out that she can't remember how to do the moves she's taught, she freaks out when rolling because she thinks her brain is freezing up, and she freaks out because she feels her friend whom she joined with is getting the moves but she isn't. I mean, as much as I try to tell her that all of these things are totally normal and that people who have been doing jiujitsu for years still forget a lot of the moves they get shown, she isn't buying any of it.

But the fact is she's going, and I think she's even enjoying it. It's only been four classes, but I'm quite excited. So I just wanted to brag. :)

You may now commence with all the bad taste jokes about closed guard, triangles, north-south, getting the third hook in, etc. :)

Terrible idea, Bro, terrible. I got my wife a pistol, pepper spray and a taser, taught her to use all three and I leave her at the house while I roll.

You are asking for trouble. Nothing causes loss of sex appeal like your woman watching you get your ass kicked 2-3 times a week by some guy with an exotic accent.

My wife trains MMA with me at my club. That's right...no gi. She loves it, I love it, it's awesome. And (not so) strangely, all the guys at the gym treat her and all the other women who train there with respect. Why? Well gee...any goddam idiot can tell the difference between rolling and fondling, and if you are dumbass enough to do the latter, you will be heading off to the PD with handcuffs on two broken arms - every regular member of the gym would help snap 'em.

All you insecure fools who can't handle the idea of your girl wrestling or doing BJJ or whatever else, get a life. You don't trust your girl, you don't deserve her.

My gym owners = Female BJJ brown belt and Police Sgt., husband and wife. Funny, they don't worry about it either. Somebody messes with her? She'd choke or armlock him and hubby would slap on the cuffs.

Get your girl in BJJ - Her hip movement will improve considerably. And lung capacity. And leg gripping strength. And flexibility. Wow...so many benefits. What are you waiting for?

Your crazy to get your girlfriend to do bjj at the same school as you. For me bjj is an escape from everything eg work, relationship stuff etc. i wouldn't want anyone i was dating to be at the same school as me. Then what happens if you break up! that could get uncomftable, especially if its because she is sleeping with the instructor now haha

Every semi attractive girl i have seen join a bjj gym has ended up sleeping with someone from the gym lol.

hahahahaha, awesome post

The cool thing is you can do drills with her at home. Definitely a healthier activity than sitting on the couch and watching tv!

But seriously, this is probably the most entertaining thread I've ever read on sherdog. lol, everything except that damn idiot playa4layer.

1st post - rock on!

Yeah my mrs would never do BJJ. I would be cool if she appreciated it though.

I bore her senseless with my endless talk and when I force her to watch some of the coolest BJJ vids online, all I get in return as a roll of the eyes as she turns to watch America's Next Top Model (which is wank by the way!).

High 5s here. Cheers.

My wife loves BJJ and MMA, but she has no drive to actually go to train at the academy. About once a week we throw down the mats when we go to the gym and we roll, and I show her this and that, but as for formal academy type training, she has no interest. She says she is comfortable rolling with me of course, but wouldn't with other ppl.
