I've been watching boxing for 50 years now and have seen it all. Or at least I thought I have until I saw MMA's greatest striker get fucked up by a 40 year old has been. Not to mention his weak arse punches who couldn't knock out my grand grand daughter. Is that the best you have to offer? Lamo

He can always run, and cage is HUGE, people like to brag about how him wouldnt last a minute in MMA against Conor, which might be true, but he wasnt the one calling Conor out for an MMA fight, it was the other way around it, and to make it "fair", he should had called out Canelo, a guy about his same size and age, not a retired 40yo guy, GOAT, but still 40yo and retired, then we might actually see how long does Conor last in a boxing fight.

Well, GGG then, just as tall as Conor, slightly older, fights at 160lbs tho.

Elite boxers are far more conditioned to take punches it's all they deal with. Floyd took 111 punches from Conor, some of them being pretty big ones and they didn't drop him once compared to Jose Aldo who was unbeaten for a decade and was conpletely switched off with a single punch. A GGG or a Canelo would take years off of Conors career, would be a poor move.
 
A NFL football player once went the distance with the greatest boxer ever, Muhammad Ali, in a boxing match when Ali was near 40. A friggin hockey player then also once went the distance with a 40 year-old Ali in a boxing match, and also had Ali on shaky legs at least once or twice during the fight.

McGregor not only couldn't go the distance with a boxer who is not as great as Ali, but he couldn't go the distance last night despite having a 25 pound weight advantage against a boxer who readily admits he has "brittle hands" and has to cover those hands in a sport that uses pillows.

I'm quite embarrassed for McGregor actually. What's even more embarrassing is that I, as a Canadian, have to admit to my neighbors that hockey players are not only tougher athletes, but better fighters than these MMA guys as well. Ditto for football players. It sucks. I wasn't sure McGregor would win last night, but I thought it was a 100% certainty that he would at least go the fucking distance. Jesus, he took 25 mins of punches from a 200+ pound man in Nate Diaz, yet he goes out and gets stopped by some old ass boxer with brittle hands who is naturally about the same size as Dom Cruz. That's pathetic. It really is.
 
I would be utterly shocked if Conor lasted 30 minutes on the ground with Marcelo Garcia. Even more shocked if he had moments like Marcelo turning his back to him and covering up his face like a dweeb.



Boxing is a crude rock em sock em style martial arts and yesterday made it evident. When the supposed TBE has to resort to letting some mma guy punch himself tired it is not a good look for the sport.

A mma fighter will always have a chance against a boxer. A boxer will pretty much have no chance against an mma fighter.
 
MMA is the superior fighting style. But boxers have better technique, defense and chin. MMA is more exciting because guys get hit flush more with smaller gloves and knocked out, plus continuous action. I love both sports, all combat sports.

"Consistently landed".

Yeah. Consistently landed 1 out 4 jabs and 1 out of 6 power punches.

Meanwhile Mayweather used him as a fucking punching bag lmao
