My faith in Russian corruption has really taken a hit here. Can't believe they let Sasha fail a urine test and didn't even manage to cover it up.

Now I am travelling 1500 miles to see Denis Lebedev. Ugh.

A UFC main event falls through once a month. Feels like the first time in forever one has fallen through for boxing

Anyone looking at the IBF Heavyweight eliminator fight in New Zealand on Saturday between undefeated Kiwi Joseph Parker and experienced veteran Carlos Takam? Both have a lot of knockouts and the latter is about a +400 underdog but apparently looks in excellent shape ahead of the bout. Takam is a big step up in class for Parker who supposedly turned down the fight twice previously and has mostly fought on the regional scene in NZ. The winner is in line for a shot at Anthony Joshua's belt. It's pretty likely someone is getting knocked out here and maybe Parker looks like a beast and steamrolls, but I think there's potentially some value on the dog. I put $25 on it at +400 for some action.

Sounds good, I'll put a unit on there as well.

Looking at their records Takam has only been stopped once and that was in the 10th against Povtekin in what was apparently a close fight up until that point. Could be worth a bet. Fight starts about midday for us Brits so I might live bet it.

I took Takam at the +400 opener, it's a big jump for Parker, however good he has looked to date. Hedging Parker Dec +210, it would be a big statement to stop Takam.

Is that Bet365? You get draw no-bet then so it's decent.
Draw= no bet is standard on boxing and MMA moneyline bets at least on all the U.S. friendly books.

Added another .25u on Takam at +400.

Small bet on Youri Kalenga versus Yunier Dorticos, Friday in France at 10/11 -110.

Don't know much about Dorticos but Kalenga is a big step up in opposition and it's in France where Kalenga is based so expect him to get the benefit if it is goes to the judges. Dorticos obviously has power but couldn't stop the one notable name on his record, Edison Miranda, a career middle/super-middle competing up at cruiser, previously stopped 4 times. That's the only time he's gone past 4 rounds so Kalenga has a big experience advantage.

Kalenga has a decent chin having gone the distance with Lebedev so I'd peg him a clear favourite unless Dorticos is unexpectedly something pretty special.

(Also free roll here as Coral have Dorticos 6/4 +150. Bet365 is the 10/11 with draw no-bet, Coral is draw bet loses.)

On Toe to Toe Tuesdays on FS1 tonight, +1000 to +1500 underdog (depending on the sportsbook) Minnesota club fighter Joey Abell just knocked out heavy favorite undefeated prospect John Wesley Nofire from Oklahoma in the co-main event in round 3. I almost threw $25 each on the two bettable underdogs on this card just for the hell of it but went out to dinner with a friend tonight and blew it off. D'oh!

He just posted an update on instagram saying:

  • Ok guys iv been fooling you all,
There was no knockdowns in the gym, as if it's possible for me to get chinned off a LHW lol, lost over 10kg feeling great never been so on cores for a fight with 2 month left to go, stripping the weight nicely, but keeping the muscle, all going good,#gypsyking I play mind games,King

Tailed you on Kalenga over Dorticos, Bruthead, 1.25u to win 1u. Hopefully can catch it on YouTube after work tomorrow.

Took small stabs on Art Hovhannisyan over Maldonado at +310 and Victor Emilio Ramirez +900 over Lebedev. Probably not tail worthy but I see a bit of value in both of those lines. Maldonado a pretty good young fighter but Art is no pushover, should be a close fight. I don't think Ramirez should be +900 here, he's not a bad fighter, put a beating on Afolabi not too far back. Will probably lose to Lebedev in Russia but still at +900, had to take a shot.

Anything on the Showtime card this weekend, BT, with Lara vs Martirosyan or Jermall Charlo vs Austin Trout or Jermell Charlo vs John Jackson?
