Interesting to get another take from a Povektin supporter. I agree I probably undersold Takam a bit in naming him a journeyman, he's a very decent fighter from what I've seen. Still a much different matchup than Deontay presents, though.

I also think Povetkin's on the juice, didn't want to mention it in my first post (the only time i got dubbed was when I said I thought Reem and Brock were juicing back in the day, obviously was right about Reem) but yeah that's definitely a worry. It makes a lot of sense at this stage in his career and the way he's been ko'ing guys. Should be an interesting fight. Deontay does get tagged a lot, he gets tagged a little too much for my liking and he's been buzzed by guys that he should not have been being hit by let alone hurt by. that being said I think we see Povetkin's win streak come to an end here. Wouldn't' be surprised if Povetkin came in and got the W but I still favor the outside game and that right hand to get the job done from Deontay. He's light for a hw so i don't think he'll be able to tire Povetkin out on the inside as much as Wlad did but I do think he can keep his distance and if/When Povetkin closes in, he'll be able to hold and get that separation that he needs.

All in all I see this as a good test for Deontay that he'll ultimately pass. I definitely don't think he should be a huge favorite or anything, Pov is no joke, but I think Wilder should be able to keep his distance and his reach and power are gonna be big obstacles for Pov to overcome, so had to bet him as a small favorite, only 1.5u so not going big on it, possibly adding another .5u but that's probably my ceiling here. Should be interesting to see how Deontay pans out against a good test here nd if us Murricans have a big guy worth rooting for again.

Wilder by dec has opened +400 at one Eurobook, might hit if it becomes available +500 or better as a hedge. That book has Wilder by KO at -105 which I think is horrible value. I mean, Wilder didn't KO Stiverne who was moving through treacle the second half of that fight and took 9R to stop Molina and Szpilka who had been stopped before, and 11R for Duhaupas who is tough as hell but a way worse fighter than Povetkin.

Given I will likely be in an arena with 14,000 rabid Russians, I couldn't possibly bet Wilder here. Not sure I would make it out alive if I started celebrating a USA win whilst being English and probably looking more American than Russian. I was at UFC 196 and had bet Valentina Shevchenko only to be sat behind some of Amanda Nunes' friends and family. They were actually very friendly but it stopped me from shouting, 'Finish her Valentina' when she was down 2 rounds going into Round 3.

^ lol that's crazy. are you funding the trip with gambling winnings? if so i want to be doing something similar next year and hit some of the ufcs in europe.

haha, I know that feeling. I sat next to some of Conor's family when he fought Siver. Things were all good when him and Paddy fought, but I was on Spencer vs Cathal who they knew through Conor, and when he got the robbery win I couldn't hold my frustration in lol luckily they were cool people

For the Brits (and our overseas friends using streams) boxing on Friday night on Box Nation and Saturday night from 10pm on Channel 5 (so should hopefully finish just before UFC starts). Hopeful both will have live betting available.

Haha, yeah that sounds like a great time but also scary as shit too, lol. Atmosphere should be great, huge party with drunk Russians sounds super fun, stuck in a riot with drunk Russians sounds terrible. Hope you have a good time over there man, stay safe!

Just some news article and Boxrec capping here, but BET tv channel is kicking off a new boxing series tonight at 10 PM EDT live from The Armory in Washington, DC, the site of many recent cards. The main event features a young undefeated 29-0 local fighter with almost zero amateur background and who hasn't been in the ring with anyone of note nor too many opponents with good records taking on an opponent with a good record of 21-3-1 who is a fairly big step up in class and who has experience against top competition in championship fights against the likes of Lucas Matthysse. The underdog got bet down from a +700 opener, if the steam means anything. I bet the underdog at the current line this morning:

Mike Dallas Jr. (+450) vs Dusty Hernandez Harrison $50.00 for $225.00

Anyone watching boxnatio lb up in a bit

ya hoping this hughes kid is tough enough to last to a dec :D not to sure though.. read mayweather called up Catterall to be his sparring partner in the past (has to be pretty good then) looks to have some nasty body punches and supreme confidence..

i already knew all that but ya not very confident either.. he does have 75? amateur fights or something like that.. so at least he has some decent experience

Yeah he was the better amateur. Dec line still sitting @ +220 as we go into r3.

looks more even

damn nice line.. i have been adding a bit but at way worse price =/ only have unibet avaliable.. lines been frozen since start on betfair :(

catterrall dont look like anything special to me but he is outclassing hughes.. still fel like there is a decent chance for dec

i see it close to 50/50 if goes to dec atm.. hughes dont seem bothered by the power and not a one sided beatdown or anything so the ref would jump in
