Boxing Discussion VIII

Smashed Parker and beat the breaks off Dubois. Hes legit but he trusted his chin too much. Everyone assumed it wouldn't matter but eventually it does

He was a loss waiting to happen v the elite but people thought this was nothing but a tune up, myself included. With hindsight alot of experts seem to think this was always going to happen...

As a bettor that's the only value to me in boxing these days. It's too bad I missed the boat on Fundora. I had him set in my mind as a guy who would lose a fight he was "supposed" to win. Kind of felt this way about Joyce. But admittedly, my boxing fandom has fallen off a bit. I didn't even know who Zhang was.

That's exactly what I do. Create an ongoing fade list and monitor matchups for that

Still, with Joyce godlike chin I wasn't too fussed here. Never bet Joyce, even round props but I did expect him to terminator through Zhang like he did everyone else.

Tank/Garcia this weekend should be a good one

Who do you have on your list of fighters to fade?

I have Campbell Hatton as a fighter to fade.

All match-up depending but yeah on a step up of competition he's one. Micky Conlan was one
Ajagba as big fav, Babic worth monitoring. A great one was Zerafa to beat Hardman last year in Aus.

I look for guys who are juiced to the gills every fight but dont pass the eye test.

Just watched the Joyce fight... Damn like others here I've been trying to fade him for a while, I just didn't expect this to be the fight where his lack of boxing fundamentals got exposed. Would have bet Zhang decision if I was gonna go that route anyway.

Babic for sure.

Sorry to go off topic to another sport, but in line with fading……

I also like fading certain tennis players. Serena the past couple of years because she was fat and done.

Rafael Nadal is pretty much done. We should be able to get good odds on his opponent(s) in the French Open where he was dominant.

Novak Djokovic will be good to fade right now on clay. He is declining but it is just the start of his decline. Clay is his worst surface.

Starting a list is a good idea like @burge13 does.

I'm on Davis, Davis decision, and the over.

I just hate that Davis he is happy to give up rounds but at that price its not a bad bet at all. I will play the over 7.5 on this one for sure though.

My strategy is to live bet Nadal / Djok once they go down a set or 2 in the French... They often beat better playing opponents just through mental fortitude of not letting the nerves get to them.

Yep. Same here. Sometimes taking them to lose the first set is worth a stab as well.

I got Tank 6-12 at +250. I like that the best. Probably going to take Tank by KO and also over 6.5.

Ryan hasn't been tested by any quality inside fighter in his career. Everyone points to the Campbell fight. But that means nothing to me. What can Ryan do inside? Tank is the shorter fighter in every fight except Cruz and that's the one he really struggled in to me.

Lukasz Rozanski- $500 +105
Interesting HW fight, Babic could club him out or maybe outlast him as he’s shown he can go 10 hard rounds. But I’ll take Rozanski that has beat slight better competition, uses better technique and stays more controlled while being aggressive. Add in homefield advantage of being in his home country and city. I think Rozanski is good value here.

Garcia/Davis over 7.5 rounds - $250

I haven't seen much of Rozanski but his decision line sits around +1600 and he's at home. I've seen all of Babic's fights and he is usually gassed a couple rounds in. Maybe Rozankski round group betting may be worth a poke?

We’ve never seen Rozanski past 4 rounds. I’m not sure how well he can box into the championship rounds but he seems to always stay composed. Had a much better amateur background than Babic also, so he’s no stranger to the game.
This is oddly enough a real championship fight scheduled for 12 rounds, which is a lot for these two. It’s for the new WBC Bridgerweight title. I do like the fight being In Rozanskis Poland in case it does hit the cards but I don’t think it goes that far. I would poke at the decision line if it were 8 or maybe 10 rounds. But I can’t see this going the full 12

Yes, I brought up the decision line as potentially feasible since both men may bring that much more to become the first BW champion. The WBC has no shame. Rozanski's KO/TKO/DQ line is around went from +110 to +120. I'm staying away from this. I know if I play Rozanski then Babic will stop him.

I was surprised that Babic went the distance with Balski. He does claim to have new trainers with new plans. It’s far from a lock but I’ll take Rozanski ML. Covering winning inside the distance, a legit win on the cards or a hometown decision. I’m banking on the better technique of Rozanski to be the difference early and often.

Damn you're tempting me now. I agree with all the points you just stated.

He's no longer with his head coach Leonard Pijetraj.I agree with what's being said, but hard to me to bet against Babic, his volume is off the charts and has a heart of a lion a true warrior in there.Could go either way, perhaps some value in Rozanski but I'll pass

Yeah I think it’s a close fight. Odds being close are accurate. Babic is the bigger name of the two so I think he’s getting a little push off that. He’s younger and has been getting better training including sparring with Tyson Fury. But he’s out in Poland now, I’ll ride with my pick. Should be good action for as long as it lasts.
