Are they going to have all four quarter-final fights for each weight class on one card the same night? Same for the four total semi-final fights of the WBSS?

Doesn't look like it.

As Espinoza mentioned, the WBSS tournament quarterfinals will take place during the months of September and October. Tentatively, the semifinals will be staged in January and February 2018, before the respective finals in May. Official dates and venues for the individual matchups will be sorted out in the weeks ahead, but expect some fights to be held in Europe, with others in the United States.

Whats your guys opinion on mikey garcia vs broner? My coworker swears mikey is gonna win.

Formerly undefeated boxer Miguel Flores got stopped by better than +1700 underdog Dat Nguyen in his last bout. I'm putting a few on his opponent Chris Avalos, who has a few losses and losses by KO, but to better opponents.

Chris Avalos (+240) vs Miguel Flores $50.00 for $120.00

Just tuned in late and Avalos apparently beat Flores by TKO due to a cut that the referee ruled was from a punch and doctor stoppage of Flores that's controversial because many are saying it was actually from a head butt.

He's a pretty big favorite. I'm betting Broner for action but I think Garcia takes a decision. I'm aware his KO % is high but Broner will go on the defensive instead of fire fight when getting lit up(watch his two losses).

flores is promoted by warriors boxing and im surprised the ref ruled against miguel and his promoter.

Broner looks to be in good shape and is clearly taking it serious but I'd be shocked in Garcia lost this.

Garcia probably takes it on a wide points decision and could score a knockdown or 2. Broner as much as you can slate him has heart and is no quitter. But he has so many tells that Garcia can exploit, Garcia will be able to find him at range with the straight shots like others have, even lesser opponents have had some success with.

If Garcia finds success early a late stoppage wouldn't shock me but I'm pretty damn big on Garcia's ML.

never bet against joe deguardia and star boxing. only the second time in 30 years that the wbc international title fight was changed to 10 rounds...the only other time was also with joe smith jr

this is ahmet oner shit.

how the fuk does an opponent not know that the rounds have changed in a fight other than by straight out corruption?

My thoughts on the World Boxing Super Series, cross-posted from a thread in the boxing forum. Now that I see how they are running this, I realize how poorly conceived and organized this sounds like it will be:

Is it odd to anyone else that these WBSS tournament fights are just going to be scattered on random boxing cards all over the world and on random tv outlets one at a time piecemeal for months on end and won't instead have each leg of the tournament from quarter finals, semi-finals and finals for each weight class be concentrated on a few different cards mostly dedicated to these bouts and on one tv outlet in each country at least? It just seems like this half-assed setup and unpredictable schedule makes it a hundred times more difficult to follow or build any momentum or interest than if say, they had the quarter-finals for each weight class on Showtime two nights in a row say Friday and Saturday or two weekends in a row and the whole broadcast was dedicated to hyping up the tournament and the prizes.

You will be more surprised when I tell you all the r1 losers are pocketing $750k...whilst the winners will take home $1m...

Put a fair amount down on Linares ML already, when the props lines come out I'll be very big on Linares TKO too, he will absolutely school Campbell here. Campbell's chin is shaky anyway, never mind facing a guy like Linares.

So with so much money available, they should be able to put together some good cards on major tv channels, not just let these fights happen one a a time in countries all over the world with absolutely no special programming behind them. They way they are doing this kind of ruins the whole fun tournament aspect of it.

The WBA ordered the matchup, but they haven't even signed bout agreements nor set a date yet. So your money might be tied up a while. I can't even find a line for this yet.

Yeah, nothing official as of yet but I'll happily have my money tied up in that, Linares is levels ahead.

Paddy Power have odds (EU).

The fight really should come together, Golden Boy and Linares have a great relationship with Hearn. Hearn and Campbell both want the fight, Linares wants it, Linares is now training and living in London. I'd be shocked if this doesn't come together.

FYI- Showtime will be live streaming Carl Frampton-Andres Gutierrez, Gerald Washington-Jarrell Miller, and the U.S. debut of Katie Taylor on their Facebook and/or YouTube pages before the two-fight tv main card on Showtime on tv.
