Boxing Discussion IV

I was half paying attention with the UFC also on, but that was a very competitive fight beteeen Valdez & Marriaga. That late knockdown by the champ probably seals the decision. And they just read the scorecards, really inappropriately wide.

Started with 8u up, from Dodd and Farell, but Langford, Ryder, Dubois and Holt kinda deflated it.
I'm up 3.6u and still have in play 1.5u Stevenson Shakur by dec @ 5.50 and 0.8u Berto @ 5.50

1.5u Shakur by Dec @ 5.50 hit as well!
Damn, good night.
Finished up by 9.4u!

Ended up 1u down from boxing last night, due to overplaying Langford and Tete KO.

Only reason it wasn't more is because Rocky decision pulled it back.

Aj undercard is a disgrace. Shit for betting too easy wins for all the English fighters

Mismatched fights often get a good decision prop line though. I havent looked at the card but hopefully there's some tough enough underdogs

Another mostly underdog filled weekend with mixed results. A few of these dogs made their fights very close and with hindsight therefore justify the wagers to my way of thinking. For example, Marcelino Lopez knocked his opponent down in the eighth round in a competitive fight, but lost too many early rounds coming off a long layoff to get the decision. John Ryder made it a very close fight with Rocky Fielding to where the split decision could have went either way. Longshot Joe Hughes managed to make it close enough to force a draw vs Tyrone Nurse, but I lost anyway with the three way line in this case instead of a push like I'd get at many books. Even longshot Miguel Marriaga engaged in a furious FOTY candidate with Oscar Valdez that I thought was scored way wider than fair, even though I was sure he lost a UD. At least big plays on Khurtsidze and Abraham paid off. As a mostly underdog player I don't at all mind taking and losing big positions on Berto, with the huge upside that was there, although I might have hedged with Porter 7-12 stoppage to be safe and perhaps break even. Only a small 1.43 unit loss on the balance. Looking forward to next weekend and am awfully tempted by Wlad as a more than 2-1 underdog.

No value on AJ but got a feeling he wins one way or another, think Klit's age could show & if it does go to decision I have no confidence They'll give it to klit

That's the problem i don't for this card i see stoppage wins. I love betting juiced dec lines but i see Quigg and Cambell winning ITD. Will prob just lb this one unless i play a juiced treble. Adams dec could be interesting as it's a 10 rounder, but i think the books have surely cottoned on now that she's a woman and has no power.

Early opinions for Joshua card this weekend.

Scott Quigg between 7-9.
Luke Campbell DEC
Klitschko DEC

I really want to see Klitschko pull it off, obviously he's been out the ring a while, he's aging and Joshua is on the rise but if he avoids early power shots I think he can pull it off, maybe even a late finish... nothing fully decided yet but like I said, early thoughts.

I was so tempted to play Klit at dog odds and the bet makes a lot of sense. But I just really see AJ smashing him.

I'm really starting to think that this time while Klit has been champ has been a period of time where the HW division has been void of great or even good HWs. Guys like Eddie Chambers, Chris Areiola and even James Toney. Just pathetic. A guy like Bryant Jennings would have been smashed in a different HW era. I think AJ is the first true elite HW to come around in a long time. A Gold Medalist with supreme speed and devastating power. And I just think he starches Klit here and starts a new era.

I know it's not popular because of price. So I'm really thinking of playing the under here.

Also, Klit probably will not be able to hold like he has in Germany. I think he gets warned for it early if he starts it.

Yeah there's no value in Joshua, if you play him it has to be round betting really to get good value, or the under.

Although the last few weeks I've thought similar to you something is making me back Klit, wouldn't be shocked at all if he does get stopped but there's value in his price and DEC @7.00 is too high not to throw some down on in my opinion.

Katie Taylor by decision seems again like a good bet. However, now we are getting only 2.50 odds for 10 rounds, against a better opponent. I still think i will hit that.

Yea. Can't fault anyone stabbing Klit. Especially decision. But it's just a case where I'm pretty confident this is the end for him. And I think it ends dramatically. AJ is just too fast and too damn powerful IMO. I like the under at evens

The more I think about it, I feel Joshua is most likely to win by a late stoppage or decision with Klitschko being careful to avoid the power early and surviving for a long while. Dillian Whyte and Dominic Breazeale both lasted until the 7th round in recent bouts with Joshua, so Klitschko should last that long if he is careful before an accumulation of punches wears him down, maybe even lasting the distance like he did against Fury. Joshua -9½ points was at a decent price yesterday but dropped a little, and I'm also looking at starts round x props and over props as well as Joshua decision, Joshua unanimous decision and maybe some Klitschko decision hedges. I would not be surprised to see Wlad end up retiring after losing this bout.

Klitchko joshua decision +250 3.50?

I like it, can easily see it happening. This is Joshua's first real, solid test and even if he does win I don't expect some early KO, lesser fighters have taken him deep as JG said.

Very good odds for over 6.5 rounds @ 1.75 at Marathonbet while on other bookies it is maximum 1.60.

U guys are right about lesser fighters taking Joshua into mid rounds. But a few things. Those guys probably have better chins than Klit. AJ is improving rapidly at the Pro level. And Most of all. this fight is at Wembly. Kilt will not be allowed to hold and will be forced to stand his ground and fight

Agreed. But by avoiding the power you mean clinching constantly. What if this is not allowed
