Always a lot of talk about these kinds of matchups. Whether it's Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones Jr. or Nick Diaz vs Roy Jones Jr. or Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather... in all these matchups I assume the boxer will get their way and it'd be Marquess of Queensberry rules.
Of course, Randy Couture fought James Toney under MMA rules.
My question is, why do these matchups never meet in the middle? Make it a kickboxing bout. That way, the MMA fighter has a chance in a stand up war... and the boxer only has to worry about kicks rather than what happened to Toney... being taken down and beaten on the ground.
Conor vs Floyd is going to be so one sided unless it's a kickboxing style bout.
