Bosnia

its terrible dont go there people will stare at you in restourants you will be last to get service and so on.

Whole point of the thread. Waited for someone to ask if the war is over, if we step on land mines, or if there is internet 😂. I think I'm from the prettiest city in Bosnia anyways. I mean West Herzegowina is the best by far. It's an extension of Croatia with 95% Croatian population. In any case I'm in Croatia in 10 minutes and 2 hours to Sarajevo. We are the top earners in the country lol. Least I think. I mean the Croatian president candidate is from here from his fathers side. He lost anyways. 1 out of 4 Croatians is originally from Bosnia Herzegovina. Especially in Zagreb there are Herzegovina neighborhoods. It's a cliche, hercegovci in Zagreb. Hercegovina ftw. But Croatia is the most beautiful by the coast, I don't prefer no region of Croatians. Same flag same goal.
I don't go much to Bosnia im not a muslim, I go to Croatia. I been to Sarajevo maybe 5 times, I like them. But Bosnia doesn't excite me that much to randomly travel. Hercegovina is just the lower 20-30% of the country. West is Croatians, east are Serbians.
Simple : Muslim - Bosanac. Catholic - Croatian / Hrvat. Orthodox - Russia lover Serbian / Srb.
We got 2 passports, Croatian and Bosnian.

I am from here. But off to Germany on wensday. Than probably back home soon in maybe 2 months. Well Germany is my home too. But I am Croatian Herzegovina is my land. Well Germany is mine too I am into stealing, gonna steal Germany from the Krauts. You call them Krauts ? Based of Sauerkraut. We call then Švabe. That was low key my nick name at school when I still had a German accent as kid lol. Švabo.

There's always a weird atmosphere if I'm in Sarajevo. Frenemies. Basicaly cause of my nationality. I like them but they might be a slight of distrust. In Germany it's different, Bosnians there are the home team. Just jugos in General always vibe outside of balkan. Same language. But I can recomend it for traveling. Cheap. Friendly people. Croatia is 10x better but expensive. It simply got the ocean.

So we conclude Croatia is my land. Bosnia Herzegowina too. Germany is also home as in native teritorry. Ofc Germans own Germany. But I'm half way from there too. They happy to have me compared to the gazilion new imigrants who half way don't spesk the language. Germany. Njemačks. Deutschland.

Rant over

I also fancy the USA. And at one point must do a Thailand trip. Actually UK Greece Italy too. But traveling inside Europe doesn't count. It's too easy. Still wanna soeak english irl where it's the official language.
Russia is intriguing too. And yeah def gonna visit Kosovo / Albania sooner than later. Probably also Serbia.

In all seriousness, I passed through Sarajevo a few times in 1998 when I was in the military. This was after the end of the Bosnian War but it was obvious some serious shit had gone down with the bombed out buildings everywhere and we were still on heightened security with everything going on in Kosovo at the time. Glad to hear things are better there these days.

My Dad was British Army and he served in Bosnia for a few years. One strange thing happened to him - he was out hiking with some people in the mountains and they discovered this guy who was in hiding from the war (Which had been over for years at this point). The guys name was Illija Panincic

The Bosnian war has finally ended for Illija Panincic - six years after the soldiers put down their arms.
Mr Panincic had taken to the hills in 1996, and had not found out that the civil war had come to an end.

The former shepherd was discovered by British peacekeepers living off nuts and berries in an abandoned house.

His only neighbour was a brown bear who used to scratch at the door.

Speechless

"When we first got there, he was a dirty, smelly, bearded man who said nothing and just stared at us.

"He was very withdrawn and very cautious of anyone near him," said Major Nigel Taylor from the Nato-led Stabilisation Force.

The years without human contact meant Mr Panincic had lost some of his ability to speak.

But he has not sought out company since being discovered.

"He has got the opportunity to come down now but is content to stay where he is, and only trusts the people he has got to know," the major said.

TV future

Mr Panincic went into self-imposed exile after his brothers were executed by Croat authorities.

He was found five months ago by a local walking group who notified the Nato peacekeepers.

Since then British soldiers have been bring food and clothing to his hideaway.

Major Taylor said that without their help he might have died this winter, which was particularly harsh.

The soldiers now want to raise money to install a power supply to his home so he can have television and stay up to date with the world.

Other than that, all I remember is my Dad had a hookup there for pirate dvds and video games, so he got me to make a huge list of all the games and movies I wanted. He came back with a treasure trove of piracy. In all the stuff he gave to me, randomly there'd be porno dvds but it was always lame muslim style porno (We were living in Germany at the time and so the porno I was stealing from the shops was way better)
