Born to Grapple.

human fist vs animal skull.. animal wins every time as their skull for what ever reason are always stupidly strong.
and I would def be more worried about a full grown male gorilla than a grizzly bear as gorillas have 4 hands.. climbs trees. and has HUGE teeth
grizzly bear could never keep up with a gorilla except for sheer size/weight

same reason dogs can take down bulls.... but lions don't take down elephants :)

On a Semi related note, does anyone else ever wonder what animal fights would look like if they where given intelligence and a few thousand years to develop technique.

Octopi by whatever they want. No neck to choke, no bones to break in a lock, but 8 flexible, strong limbs to choke and joint lock you all damn day.

If they ever breath air for long periods of time we're all fucked.

The original article is about interspecies aggression. It his important for humans to grapple because of the threat of aggression from other humans - not from animals. Same for apes - they primarily need to defend against attacks from members of their own species.

there is not doubt that most people undervalue the importance of grappling as it relates to our survival and evolution. This David Carrier research highlights this fact.

Again, the original article touches on a very interesting topic that is intrinsic to what it means to be human. it has nothing to do with humans out grappling animals.

Is it me or anything that has to do with Human's evolution is biased to grappling? Cause the way i see it is these evolutionary things happen due to environment, escaping and the use of hunting etc.... not really to defend ourselves from other humans (besides the usage of our brains).
