RBR Boots vs Lima - Matchroom- October 11th

i bet you didn't have that problem with canelo fighting avni yildrim.
Yldrim was a mandatory, it was fight him or lose the belts. That's the difference.
I think Boots is fun but he needs to fight better opposition. He wanted to unify at 147 but that never happened. I would like to see him aggressively go for belts and unification at this new weight. It would be very disappointing if he just wins one belt and sits on it.

when you start calling guys a "can" because they got annihilated in one round by a fighter the caliber of ennis, even though dude had 14-1 record and was IBO champ, that's when I know there's some serious hate going on with you.
wow the 14-1 IBO Champion. He basically beat Robinson tonight

ortiz needs to get past lubin first. i actually got lubin to beat ortiz. i think brandon adams shoulda clamored for an ortiz fight too. i think adams has a good shot at beating vergil.
Well you’re indirectly supporting the other guy’s point implying that Ortiz is fighting killers and Boots is not.

dude. you called the IBO welter champ with a 14-0 record a "can". Do you have any idea how completely retarded and haterish that sounds?
Bro … you are fucking retarded defending the all mighty IBO champion … lol… kid is a mid level talent … should not be near at any world title fight and nowhere near Boots

Just caught the card, Vianello fight was good, always been dangerous,, Boots just crushed Lima.

It’s a valid criticism but what did Crawford and Spence resume look like at 28?

Crawford fought Dierry Jean and Spence blasted Ocampo. Spence did beat Brook after Brook was manhandled by Golovkin but it’s a good win. If Boots gets a big fight in the next 6 months he’s still on track.

Crawford was already undisputed at 35 fights and a champion in his third weigh class. I don’t think Spence has reached 35 fights and he’s still accomplished more.

For reference, Crawford beat Dierry Jean at Boot's age. He did have wins over Ricky Burns and Gamboa at that time so maybe his resume was marginally better than Boots? It's debatable imo.
Marginally???? What are you smoking dude?

You’re talking total fights, I’m talking age.

Bottom line: Boots is special and he wants big fights but he’s got to get major fights going forward or his legacy will be irreparably diminished.

Even if we go the age route, the undefeated Cuban prodigy and one of the UK’s best champions in England is MARGINALLY better than what Boots has accomplished? That’s b/s and you know it is. We’re not just going to speed bump past that.

Who is "we"? There is just you. Tell me what the consensus opinion was on Crawford's resume before fighting Spence? If you want to believe Bud accomplished vastly more than Boots at age 28, that's fine. But I couldn't care less. The only thing that matters is what he does in his next 3-5 fights. He needs big names and needs them now.

Consensus opinion doesn’t matter here. And it’s not a matter of “if I want to believe.” What matters is reality. It’s just the truth. Bud beat established world champions and elite fighters. Boots is the king of tune ups and an email champion. These are all facts. There’s no win he has right now on the level of undefeated Gamboa. There’s no win he has right now on the level of Ricky Burns. He doesn’t even have a win on the level of a unification with undefeated Postol. Boots has to fight Murtazaliev or Fundora. No more excuses. He needs to be undisputed at his second weight class for us to even begin to compare him to Crawford. Because when you think about it, to your point, Crawford didn’t even need the Spence fight. He was already a Hall of Famer for becoming undisputed at 140 and being a three weight world champion.

It’s simple. I’ll reserve comment and give the guy an honest chance when he fights SOMEONE.
