I am looking to replace my old title boxing gloves because they are starting to wear out and was looking to get a muay thai style glove. I have read the top king and boon have the best wrist support out of the thai brands. I was wondering what the difference in quality is between them or which brand you would recommend.

I've got a pair of top king airs (12oz)and some boons(16oz). They are both really well made and have good wrist support. The top kings are made from really soft leather high quality leather, but it's softness gives the impression it might not last as long as it's so soft (only had them a couple of months and they are still good as new). The only problem I find in the the hand compartment is a bit narrow. The boons are harder padding much harder leather don't feel as nice, but are still really good to use and they seem to fit hand better. Not sure if the fitting is to do with one pair being 12 and one being 16. I find I love using the top kings on the mitts and prefer using the boons on the heavy bag cause they just feel more solid (again not sure if this is cause they are 16's)

I understand that boon have had some quality control issues, mine didn't have any of these issues with them

I think the best way to sum it up is the top kings are nicer, but don't seem as robust. The boons are not as nice but built like tanks.

I would get boons if I could only have one as they are cheaper and feel like they will last for ages

I haven't tried Boon but I have Top Kings and though I love them ONE issue I have is the hand compartment feels "short" in the sense that I can definitely feel my fingers pushed up against the very tip of the gloves. The other is that for sparring gloves they feel pretty damn hard (especially when compared to my Title bag gloves).

One cool thing though is custom colors. :P

Haven't had booms. I used Top King Airs for almost a year though and, while they provide better wrist support than the average glove, doesn't even come close to dual wrist support systems (seen in Hayabusa/Reevo) or lace ups.

Ring to Cage has some nice dual strap gloves as well, MiM (injected foam) and gel gloves.

Both will give great wrist support. You can't go wrong with either.

Does anyone know if boon have a longer hand compartment? I have long fingers but my hand is pretty small.

i hvent tried boons, but i can tell you the top kings wrist support are top notch. i dont even like using handwraps so i buy top king gloves. get em!

not wearing handwraps is like not wearing a seat belt. yeah it's comfortable for now, and nothing may happen to you, but if something does happen to you, you'll fuckin regret not wearing them.

I find them a little snug with hand wraps, but your right you have to wear them plus they are loosening up over time anyway so will all be good soon

I've tried both. IMO the Boons have harder padding, better wrist support, smaller hand compartment and smaller overall size. They're better for pad and bag work. They're a little too hard for sparring. If you're looking for an all around glove that you can spar with as well I'd go for top king but otherwise go for the Boons.

just a quick question

what's better glove for fights? 8-10oz
top king or boons?
not really training wise.

im thinking boons would be better.but i may be wrong

I have used both. I would choose Boon 9/10. Having said that, I am a big Top King fan. You really can't go wrong either way.

My favorite Thai style fight gloves are Boon and Fairtex.

The hand compartment on Top King 16 oz.'ers are way too small for me. They felt cramped when I tried them on without handwraps, so I can't imagine myself fitting them after wraps. Twins 16 oz. on the other hand fit like a dream, but the wrist support on the hook and loop is less than the Top Kings. I have no experience with the Boons.
