Media Bobby Green wasn't happy with Paul Felder's commentary. Felder responded.

Peterson is a good ref.
Couch potatoes expect ref humans to be perfect. No humans are perfect.
It's not an egregious ref error.
You can't know the exact angle, or if he blinked, or what he thought, etc.

You can know that the officials looked at the incident and called NC.

It is not an egregious error for a referee to miss a clash of heads which results in one fighter being knocked unconscious via ground and pound?

Getting KOd, as in being put into a state of unconsciousness, via ground and pound is the most brutal way to lose a fight. It is akin to a fighters head being nailed into the canvas.

But no big deal right?

Nah, all the bookies I use have it clearly stated that the moment the announcer says the outcome, that's it and it's final. They'd probably fucking change their TOC and made it void if he had said KO and that Bobby was the winner though.

Yeh, I was definitely going to lose lol. No way Green was KOing. Got lucky there.

So if they misread and then immediately correct themselves, then what?

Shades of Holland vs Daukaus. Eventually the right call was made. Green has the right to feel that way in the heat of the moment. Felder is supposed to be an unbiased commentator. Different situations, but I understand fighters are not the most composed.

I think the problem is a lot of Bobby's comments came after the heat of the moment. I admit while in the octagon with adrenalin pumping after almost being announced the winner it would be hard to control yourself. But the interviews after were no longer in the heat of the moment.

So if they misread and then immediately correct themselves, then what?

I'd be interested to find out. They'd probably still void it and hope no one got technical with them about it.

I reckon you could get them to pay out if you went at them with their own TOCs though. I've done something similar before and a book handed over 5.5k. Took me like a year and an impending review with the gambling commission, but I got it eventually lol.

Honestly...im really really hoping im wrong with this...

But ..is Paul Felder like sick sick...like cancer sick... he's gotten smaller and thinner consistently over his broadcasting transition...i cant help but feel like somethings wrong and that's why he retired and started broadcasting...we had that ESPN or TSN? journalist keep his illness covered up too for years...before dying

Am i wrong? Or over thinking something...I pray that i am?..

Anyone else notice this??

Am i going nuts?

He does lots of biking and running, I believe. It isnt as if he lost as much weight as Rashad.

Here is a good one. The announcer declared both of them winners. Everyone wins their bet?

This fight is a true shame because Gordon did what none of us expected.
Gordon matched Green's striking and was winning the striking while Green seemed to buy into his own Sherdog hype:rolleyes:
Green was being punished every time he tried throwing his shots because he didn't properly set anything up and Gordon had seemingly had his range and feints set up.

I'm not saying Gordon was going to win but I think he proved it wasn't a mismatch and he proved he could hold his own despite what many of us thought.

.....Felder by KO if it happened at any point in their careers.
Even as someone who really likes his fighting style, I gotta say Green seems to think he's a lot more slick than he actually is. He loves doing the whole "I'm too good, you can't touch me" schtick, when in reality it's like nah man youre getting touched quite a bit lol.

Green should lay off the green stuff

The real issue here is the UFC cronies trying to manipulate the truth.
If this wasn't Felder's friend the UFC and the commission could have easily fucked over Gordon and/or tried to lie about what happened.

Felder's a solid guy. Probably the best in the booth right now

Rather than anyone give Felder shit for something he was correct about regardless of how he responded, maybe dump all over the Athletic Commission and the morons they appoint to these positions. They don't hold them accountable when make mistakes, and continue to let them incorrectly apply the rules to the fights they're overseeing with impunity. If it wasn't for Felder's histrionics in a quieter setting where the officials could hear him, they would have incorrectly given that fight to Green and not checked the replay.

The problem isn't Felder, nor how he responded. The issue is the ACs don't hold their officials accountable; won't reprimand them for egregious decisions; and continue to employ people who seemingly don't know how to do their job from scoring to refereeing and more.

As for Bobby, I'm a fan but pot meet kettle on the emotional aspect of his criticism.
Sounds like government unions to me, they usually underperform and can't be fired for shit as well. The "sport" that I love will always have controversy as long as politicians are at the head of the AC. Shit seems to always flow downhill with them.

lol that's hilarious. I'd love to be on a bet like that and see if I could push a bookie's own rules at them.

When I got them, I got them on odds that were in error, but I only won because I had it in writing from an online chat worker for the bookie that the odds weren't a mistake.

Doubt I could win this double winner bet though lol.

Yeah the UFC should hire this man, he has a sense of theatre.

Ah yes, the NC means that Gordon didn't actually get concussed multiple times & ultimately have his lights put out. Nope, never happened because the record book says NC

what is there to avenge though. fight till the ref makes a call. he should be fighting the ref duh.
