Bobby Green coming in short notice basically means he’s not supposed to win

I disagree with TS' assumption.

I dont think they are throwin Islam a bone,just making the best of a bad situation.

Meanwhile Canada just beat USA to win yet another hockey gold in women’s Olympic hockey.

Wtg ladies. The two greatest teams on the planet. But one of them is a little better than the other one.

Many wouldn't take this fight even with the opportunities it creates. So props to Bobby for this. Warrior mindset and he doesn't mind stepping up for a big risk fight hoping for a big reward.

Short notice is very obviously a disadvantage for green, but even still, I think he's the second most difficult stylistic match up for Islam since the Arman fight. We've seen Green shut down grappling from Div I all americans like Volkman, and we've seen him shut down the grappling games of other good grapplers like Josh thompson, guida, healy, moises...

I do fully expect Islam to win this, though, but when he does, I'll give him far more credit for this win than I did for the win over Dan hooker lol.

I've never seen the level of support for an underdog to this degree. This truly feels like a Rocky Movie...
 
Poor choice of words. Green is not expected to win and will be the underdog. Green is supposed to make Islam earn a title shot and if possible advance his chances plus get a win bonus. But Green will not suffer any setback with a loss, since helping save the card.

True. All he really needs to do is perform better than Hooker and it should elevate his stock.

Bobby’s pitter patter boxing probably not enough to make a difference to Islam inbetween defending takedowns for 5 rounds

Worth the shot for Bobby though as has been pointed out
