Bloodsport (1988) vs Mortal Kombat (1995)

The Movie that inspired the video game vs the Movie version of that video game.

Wasn't going to make this thread because I was 95% sure Bloodsport would run away with it easily. But that 5% of me thinks the popularity of MK and cult status might be underestimated. And another part of me thinks maybe I do prefer MK deep down and cant be the only one.

Both are martial arts films. Both have a an exotic feel matched with music that enhances the mood. Lui Kang is kinda like cardio Chong li.

I'm a big fan of both movies. The criticisms are fair and they arent complex films but they are ones you can get lost in and and just enjoy.

Which movie do you prefer?

Bloodsport I mean best martial already movie Bruce Lee movies are good but this was lots of martial arts final fight was blind he sees punches but other then that it was very good martial art movie

Bloodsport...not even remotely close. I almost feel insulted these two are pitted against each other.
 
Bloodsport by a mile but I did enjoy parts of MK. The sound track and the Johnny Cage/scorpion fight.

Sonya was not a Martial artist so her fight looked awful.

I guess Jackson in bloodsport wasn't a martial artist either but at least he was big and his fight didn't look like a farce.
