PlayStation Bloodborne Megathread, v.4

Uh oh... now I am dying at the respawns. Shit, I havent seen a handicapp since the Nintendo days.

Back to grinding...

God dammit.

Sure for the fight. But please guys no spoilers for him, he'll struggle, but he'll have truly earned that feeling of beating Gascoigne.

That rush is insane. I killed the fucker with a sliver of health on my first ever run. I dont want people to rob that from you.
His damn theme (my fav track in the game) gets your heart racing too, especially in his second phase. I was so panicked when I fought him, constantly running away in terror.

I barely beat him too on that first run, but man was it a glorious feeling. I was staying at an air BnB when I did it, was shouting like I won the superbowl. Had a noise complaint lol.

In my second playthrough I just parried him constantly and beat him senseless. I felt like a god, though some say Kosm... :D

Anyway, OP try to parry (gun) makes it far easier to beat him, once you get the timing down. I'm pretty sure that's what the devs wanted us to do.

I never really used the parry on first playthrough, until I fought some crazed Hunters, and they kept doing it to me.

You got this without knowing it would be like dark souls? Weird most people get into BB because they're souls fans.

Get used to making small trips back and forth if you're dying so often you can't level up. If you venture way out, chances are you will die trying to get back to your echoes. Dying over and over will piss you off to the point your game play suffers and you die even more.

Twas $20 and I am stuck at home from oral surgery.

Ok, what the fuck. I know its supposed to be hard, but hard to me isnt being required to do shit ive already done. Thats called annoying.

That said, I am at the beginning. Found my shitty weapons in the hunters dream, killed the wolf, now I am in a city of some sorts.

On my first couple playthroughs, I didnt know the controls, let alone know what the hell you press to gain health back. I also didnt know I would run out of bullets. This is where a tutorial or instruction manual can come in handy.

Now, I know some of the controls, know what fills up health, and know where to get bullets. But now, I am out of BOTH! I keep killing he same scarecrow looking motherfuckers, just to slip up, get hit, then have to do the god damn thing over again.

Is there a block button? A quick turn?

I see all these assholes gather around a lit up tree, so I thought, Ill sneak up to the top and toss a molotov. Nope, they see me before I get into position, then its rinse, repeat.

Is there a way to bypass these guys?

This game has got some fun potential, I can feel it, but doing shit repeatedly, when ive already done them is WORK. I earned what to see next, so let me in.

I suck
Felt the same way when I first started playing. was stuck at the first onslaught of dudes with pitchforks for days.

Once I "got good" I began to love it. Its now my favorite Soulsborne game

Just killed the Cleric Beast and see the next checkpoint, thank fucking christ.

How come the doll is sometimes not in the Dream? Or why does she sit some times?
FYI Cleric beast is an optional boss lol

Im trying to learn the parry points, but i don't know which attacks to time.

In all reality, this goes for every enemy. I typically shoot the gun when an enemy begins doing an attack and just hope for the best.

You'll eventually learn the timings. Timing beats speed, lol. Mashing parry quickly aint the way. Spam it to know when to parry and remember the timing for the next try [if youre not confident in guessing timings].

I am just beginning, but this is just about the worst characteristic in a game for me. I hate not knowing where to go or what to do.. Couple that with doing shit over and over?

Im not there yet, but Ive got nothing else to do since I cant leave my place.

The exploration is one of the things I love about it tbh, you’ll encounter some of the best bosses/moments in the game doing so.

Plus one of the best weapons in the game is just randomly dumped in a sort of nothing area, so easy to miss if you don’t have a gander.

There’s an easy way to take out Gascoigne,
that involves the axe on two handed attack and the steps at the back of the boss arena.

Would only do it if you’re at the point of wanting to quit though, beating that irritating prick fair and square is pretty satisfying.

Advice for Gascoigne, if you’re getting caught on the headstones, move to place where there aren’t any. Helps tremendously.

I actually beat him this morning.

I got some.newbie questions without getting any spoilers.

I have now found my 2nd outfit set and i started to collect all sorts of other things. So...

Any weapon i should avoid buying or upgrading?
When lvling up, what is the benefit, if any, to raise the...is it arcane? Whatever increases the discovery.
I have all these other items that i have no clue what to do with... i just use throwing knives, pebbles, molotovs, and...thats it.

I pointed out the safe place to one of the villagers and got Triumph in return. What do i do with this?

After i went back to the girl asking for mummy, i gave her the brooch. She cried and that was it. Must i return?

I got a flame thrower of sorts from the dying guy. Should i upgrade this?

Speaking of sidearm, ive upgraded the hunters pistol, but like the other question, is this worth upgrading or should i wait until i get.... X?

1) You want to level the weapon you feel most comfortable with.

Ludwig's holy blade is a weapon many people favor during their first playthrough.

2) Arcane is basically magic in Bloodborne. You get Items in Bloodborne that you an equipt and they cast spells. the hugger the arcane, the more powerful they are.

3) gestures are used to communicate with other players in PVP or PVE, but there are also secrets in the game that respond to certain gestures.

4)Bloodtinge makes gun-weapons more powerful.

Depending on your playstyle, you choose what you want to level. IT will take a lot of testing out to see what you prefer.
I personally preferred an Arcane/Strength Build.

So.. upgrade my shitty pistol?

I mean personally, I upgraded it to like a +5. I barely parried.
How much do you use It when you play?
I want to parry more than dodge, but i see your point. If upgrading only takes away hit points, then wtf. I was thinking it would make parrying easier. Also, if there was a gun that parried AND wiped out hit points, then im for that.
