You could interpret this one a couple of different ways. The speed on highways leaves very time to react to a sudden blockade, especially if distracted in any way. The charitable interpretation is that the driver noticed too late, tried to avoid the blockade but couldn't speed down in time. The less charitable interpretation involves the driver noticing, recklessly thinking they could just squeeze through the side and not slowing down on purpose. I'm on board with this interpretation because of the brake lights. You can see when they come on from the red hue. The car was already on the right side of the road, showing that the driver had seen the protesters, but you only see the brake lights coming on when when he gets very close to them. Technically we needed a longer clip that shows the moment when the car veers to the right (or whether the car was already on that side). The moment he veers is the moment he notices, this tells us if he had the proper time to slow down and chose not to. If he was already on the right that complicates the interpretation.

I feel no sympathy for them...Whatsoever. If you risk bodily harm upon yourself by standing on a freeway, you should be 100% responsible for the consequences. Also, the driver should be able to sue them for damages, assuming they live.

It was not too long ago in kindergarten that we learned not to play in the middle of the street. Today, Leftists teach the youth to protest on interstates at nighttime. Not a good combination. At night wearing antifa black clothes and you won't be visible to cars going 65 mph down the highway

This is how I know you guys don't even watch the video or read the story. The driver had to drive up an exit ramp (the wrong way) and drive around police roadblocks and then intentionally sped into protesters. The road was closed.

The charitable interpretation when you see a mob of people blocking the street is that they are protesting rather than trying to carjack people.

I don't care what you're protesting. If you protest in the street and get hit by a car, you have no one to blame but yourself.

And the Darwin Award goes to...

Gtfo of the 3 lane highway in darkness and you won’t get smoked by cars.

So he was trying to get around a blockade?

Perhaps he was going somewhere on the other side of it?

Ah so now you support the police blocking public roads?

You really like to pick and choose when to respect the authority of the police, I've noticed.

That's it? I kind of want to see more. Anyway, I hope whoever drove the car (excellent power slide by the way) goes to jail or being killed on the street. If anyone have the link for a longer vid please hit me up.

Yes, he was going beyond the police blockade to attempt to kill protesters.

By all means, stand in the middle of a 3-lane highway at night, wearing dark clothes, and get back to us with the results. Or have your next of kin get back to us at least.

Perhaps I'll try it when the police have the road blocked off and a driver would have to carefully maneuver around the roadblock to accelerate into a group of people.

the parked van created a blind spot at 11 o clock, he didnt see the people on his left. once he saw them, he steered left, trying to avoid the people in the middle, but hit the people that were still coming across from the left.

people will interpret this (somehow) as the driver purposely steered into them.
