Crime BLM activist shoots at Democratic mayor candidate

I'd argue the attacks have changed even if the gameplan is the same. If you told me talk about the 90s and 00s, I'd say you're right, conservative media was massively overstepping and wrongly attacking minorities, and provide infinite examples of it. Nowadays though, what they attack is more grounded in reality, even if they portray it with a massive slant.

Lol do you know how much of a "both ways" that second statement is? I don't expect Fox News to talk about a racist white guy hanging a black guy in the South, nor do I expect CNN or MSNBC to talk about BLM activists killing and assaulting people during the riots. If we only had either's party media the news would be cartoonish. Saying it's 'because they're black" or because Antifa "is liberal" though is the easy, lazy way out. There's much more to it than that. Unless of course you're saying liberal media attacks or pushes xyz because "white males are bad". Then I think you'll make sense, as consistency is always the most important factor.

Strongly disagree here though. All we here nowadays is that everything is racist. School is racist. Math is racist. Store owners are racists. Politicians who disagree with you are racists. Lack of representation on *insert* is racist. It wouldn't just be huge news, it would be THEE news cycle. I think you know this. At this point everyone knows "Proud Boys are racist" or something, or have at least heard it. There are still people that think the riots "weren't that bad" and the buildings being burned down are "fake". Very few people outside of heavy news consumers like us on a forum know what happened with CHAZ, but if that was a "rightwing group" it would have been treated worse than Jan. 6.

Had liberal media simply demonized the scumbags who were killing, stealing, and assaulting throughout, when they were doing it (not after polling told them too many months later) it would have been met with a lot more positivity from conservatives. The intentional overlook of all the violence, and the blatant Covid hypocrisy at the time, removed any chance of a middle ground. That would be like me saying, "man, I'm glad conservative media doesn't talk about how hypocritical they are about Covid". No, I wish they did talk about everything in the open and hold themselves accountable for being full of it. That's how it should always be, but never is.

I'm at work so I can't adequately respond to this now, I'll come back to it tonight.

I'll just say this: Most of us don't see a white crime and think white supremacy unless it's an obvious hate crime.

Conservatives see black crime and assume BLM, the way you assume all violence and crime in the civil unrest was BLM. It was not.

Yea same, I have to wax the youth in some King of Fighters then make dinner. Sounds good bro.

What does Gavin Long have to do with BLM?

This serves my point that conservatives call everything black BLM.

CNN identified Long as being associated with multiple militant groups.

He was radicalized by anti-police sentiment and specifically Micah Xavier Johnson over police shooting of black people. It's the exact thing BLM was founded from and about.

I know you like to dance around whether BLM is real or not, depending on how inconvenient it is. They were the driving force behind the police shooting unarmed black men narrative. It's that narrative that inspired people like Ismaaiyl Brinsley to ambush and murder cops.

I've never really paid attention to the Proud Boys. Do they have openly violent rhetoric? I wouldn't be that shocked if they did, but if not, what a stupid deflection from the BLM criticism.

In general I think it is stupid to have a knee jerk assumption of why he did it, since he is still alive and it will likely come out. The hypocrisy in the way it is reported is quite thick though. That weird sex perv killed those Asian massage girls and was instantly hung up as some white supremacist. Guy in an SUV runs over a bunch of little kids ... needs more context.
They're a bunch of Nobodys . Buncha rednecks that the DNC decided to use as a political playtoy .

They helped ruin Ferguson then abandoned it, so they can perpetually eat a dick for being a bunch of grifters prospering off of people's suffering.

Right, he wasn't BLM, and yet you call them all BLM. They all look the same to you.

It's pretty telling you think the thing inspiring young black people to shot police is other black people saying there's a problem. It's the activists that are trouble, not the terrifying history of racist policies destroying black families.

This isn't an abstract for millions of people. It's dad and granddad doing life for a crime a white man probably wouldn't have been prosecuted for.

"Hands up don't shoot"

Now that's an interesting takeaway, considering I've merely spoken of the suspect's political affiliations and rumours of his mental health issues. Actually, those are both facts since he was struggling with his mental health and was actively involved in the BLM movement.
Obviously I have only those two facts and my hunch but this wouldn't be the first time that a person with fringe/radical positions would've lashed out on someone more mainstream out of, I don't know, disappointment, paranoia, jealousy, who really knows because we're dealing with a man with mental health issues and strong political convictions so I guess anything's possible.

Why do you think he did it?
I genuinely don't know what his motive was, and I'm not demanding the media present a narrative the facts don't support. You aren't "merely" pointing out facts in a vacuum, don't play dumb, you were speaking in defense of it being a BLM based attack.

You keep coming back to mental health as a secondary factor to explain the lack of logic on his part. Based on the facts we have now, it seems to obviously be the main contributing factor, you're reaching hard to tie it to BLM because you want it to be tied to BLM.

That's not just pointing out facts, it's working backwards and taking leaps of faith to get to a conclusion you came in with from the beginning.

Andy Ngo is doing a great job showing ho radical and connected this guy was. He got to meet Barack Obama because of his activism.

How will the DNC handle a prominent member of BLM trying to assassinate a democrat?
<{walkerwhut}>

How will they handle it? The same way they handle everything. Just flush it down the memory hole, and if anyone else brings it up, call them a white supremacist Russian Qanite, and then AOC can hop on twitter and say they're only mentioning the shooter because they want to date her.

Remember the black supremacist who plowed his car through a parade just a few months ago? Yeah, neither does anybody in the media.

I don't know, maybe Quintez thought that Greenberg wasn't pro-BLM enough?
It's really hard to say TBH, the guy is most likely a peanut-brained tool and throw in some very unhinged political positions, you don't know what's gonna come out.
Maybe an assassination attempt..?
That was the biggest revelation of the pandemic to me- that at a quick glance, stupid people (and I mean really stupid) are about as articulate as smart people.

I mean, if you're dumb enough to have been convinced that America is a white supremacist land that revels in the murder of black people by police officers, then violent attacks on the system are your only reasonable course of action, unless you're a coward.

Violent confrontation is an unavoidable outcome of BLM rhetoric.

This is why it's usually a bad idea to encourage the formation of extremist groups who follow racist ideology.

Interesting take, but I’m thinking repressed homosexual.

I'm sure you have a hunch as well, at least you're asking yourself why would someone do such thing. So you're already speculating : just let it all out, what's the most likely motive for him to try and murder the mayor?

Based on the facts that are available to me, I've made my conclusions but like I said, I don't know exactly what went through his head with all of this.
Mr. Brown isn't just another nut job, he's a politically active nut job and that's something you can't simply deny.
Perhaps there's something else behind his actions, who knows.
