I'd argue the attacks have changed even if the gameplan is the same. If you told me talk about the 90s and 00s, I'd say you're right, conservative media was massively overstepping and wrongly attacking minorities, and provide infinite examples of it. Nowadays though, what they attack is more grounded in reality, even if they portray it with a massive slant.
Lol do you know how much of a "both ways" that second statement is? I don't expect Fox News to talk about a racist white guy hanging a black guy in the South, nor do I expect CNN or MSNBC to talk about BLM activists killing and assaulting people during the riots. If we only had either's party media the news would be cartoonish. Saying it's 'because they're black" or because Antifa "is liberal" though is the easy, lazy way out. There's much more to it than that. Unless of course you're saying liberal media attacks or pushes xyz because "white males are bad". Then I think you'll make sense, as consistency is always the most important factor.
Strongly disagree here though. All we here nowadays is that everything is racist. School is racist. Math is racist. Store owners are racists. Politicians who disagree with you are racists. Lack of representation on *insert* is racist. It wouldn't just be huge news, it would be THEE news cycle. I think you know this. At this point everyone knows "Proud Boys are racist" or something, or have at least heard it. There are still people that think the riots "weren't that bad" and the buildings being burned down are "fake". Very few people outside of heavy news consumers like us on a forum know what happened with CHAZ, but if that was a "rightwing group" it would have been treated worse than Jan. 6.
Had liberal media simply demonized the scumbags who were killing, stealing, and assaulting throughout, when they were doing it (not after polling told them too many months later) it would have been met with a lot more positivity from conservatives. The intentional overlook of all the violence, and the blatant Covid hypocrisy at the time, removed any chance of a middle ground. That would be like me saying, "man, I'm glad conservative media doesn't talk about how hypocritical they are about Covid". No, I wish they did talk about everything in the open and hold themselves accountable for being full of it. That's how it should always be, but never is.
I'm at work so I can't adequately respond to this now, I'll come back to it tonight.
I'll just say this: Most of us don't see a white crime and think white supremacy unless it's an obvious hate crime.
Conservatives see black crime and assume BLM, the way you assume all violence and crime in the civil unrest was BLM. It was not.
