Tony is to blame and Max is doing the smart thing in taking this golden opportunity.

There are many reasons they didn't ask Conor, the most obvious is that Conor still hasn't signed a new deal.

If they had asked him to save the card he would have tried to bleed them dry in these circumstances, he never misses an opportunity to maximise his earnings.

Max is probably gonna get paid around 5% of what Conor would command so he's a much cheaper option.

In reality anyone using a bit of rational thought knows that Conor being offered the fight would have been a very bad business decision.

For instance Conor's last UFC gate was over $17m dollars, and that was before he became more famous from the Floyd fight, the tickets for this event have already sold, the gate will probably be under $2m, the UFC aren't stupid enough to leave that kind of cash on the table not to mention the lost buys from not promoting Conor's return.

So haters, engage your brain and think it through before starting a new witch hunt.

You wanna hate? Go ahead, just hate for something you can actually back up with some reasoned debate.

Agreed, I actually respect the haters that stick to the facts, hell Conor's no angel and is a very divisive personality, but so many on Sherdog cannot think rationally when discussing Conor.

Fuck off with the Conor threads until he actually has a fight scheduled.

Nah, when Conor runs his bitch mouth about staying ready, he's healthy and hasn't fought in ages, this is all justified. He brought that shit on himself. He thought if anyone would pull out it would be Khabib. When it was Tony he got real fucking quiet.

You don’t use Connor on 6 days notice, that would be incredibly stupid. You build a fight with him over several months with a full press tour to maximize the money he would bring in by being a card.

Seriously, the only few hardcore Conor fans left on Sherdog are having a lot of trouble defending that pussy nowadays lol. You can tell in just how hard they're digging and scrambling to try and rescue their hero. Logic was never on their side to begin with, but now it's overly rediculous.

Thank you. Simple minded is a good way of putting it.

I don't think a press tour is essential, although it's clearly a better way to maximise profits....

But there's no way they will ever bring Conor in after the tickets and ad space have been sold coz that's just burning money from the UFC's perspective.

He should have been fighting on this card in the first place. After all, he is the perfectly healthy LW "champ". Why is he sitting on the sidelines anyway? Because he knows the smashing either of those would give him. Can't wait for your rationalizations when you have to tell Sherdog why Conor/Nate III really is the fight to make next.

OK brightspark, show me logically why I'm wrong?....

This should be good.

Isn't Conor literally only 2 fights into his latest 'new' deal?

I don't blame him for the injury but I do blame him for the championship mess he caused
As a Conor fan, I agree with you. I'm a fan of his fighting and personality. I want to see him in the cage. I want to see his weigh ins and press conferences. Everything he does is a spectacle. It's annoying and stupid how hes been out for so long. But God damn his haters find any way they can to inject his name into every conversation
