Overrated movie. Average at best

I can't shake the feeling that this was much harder-hitting at some early point in the production, and got watered down by a lot of suits.

It's an average to good movie.

The scenery and acting/characters were pretty good, the plot was OK, but the CGI is some of the worst CGI I've seen in years.

Remember this beauty?!

I disagree.

I saw it and didn't think it was that great. The biggest turnoff was the racist comment against whites. Called someone derogatory "white boy."

If a produced made a superhero movie today and the good characters called a black man derogatory "black boy," they would never work again in Hollywood.

I couldn't really stomach all the feminism of Black Panther either. The amount of feminism surprised me the most, except for the white boy comment.

I think this was one of those movies that is going to be deemed relevant in this time, but in any other time, in any other context, it wouldn't have been seen as so relevant. It is the hyper-sensitivity of modern American culture, particularly regarding the issue of "race", that made people react to the movie in such an over-the-top fashion.

I think people will look back and wonder what the big controversy and debate around the movie, was supposed to be all about. They just won't get it.

I really do think the RT reviews seem unusually high in this case. Not only is the score very high (97%) but the top critics, a very picky bunch from what I've seen, gave it an even higher score than the general critics which I almost never see and its a perfect 100%.

Somebody at RT getting paid by Marvel it seems.

We all know why there are no negaticr reviews of black panther . All films get bad reviews, even the best films get bad reviews. The only reason there are no bad reviews is because anyone who says anything bad about a silly superhero movie will be branded racist.

You aren't alone in that. I actually regret not being able to see it in the theatre though. Pretty sure I gave it a solid 8/10, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

But like bear said earlier, it's not like it was Shakespeare, and Infinity War was a superior film by all metrics.

I think it coming out so close to the best Marvel movie ever didn't help it. It's a very solid origins movie and better than Cap and Thor's, IMO.

CGI let it down, but I assume they didn't want to burden it with a huge budget with them not knowing how well it would be received.

You seem to just say things without any evidence, and then only seek it if somebody asks for it. It shouldn’t be something you have to find, since you’ve already made the claim. If you had no evidence of this happening then why were you asking us to remember?
