Are you trying to tell me that in major populated cities like New York and California...White actors are in a minority? Or that their are not that many white actors in heavily populated cities? It's exactly how it works. As population goes up so to does the amount of white people in those areas. It's not like white actors are spread out through all rural areas. They condense to hollywood just as everyone else does.

So yes...even in condensed populated areas where you will see many black actors, you will still see a large disproportionate amount of white actors because...*gasp* this country is majority white. Go figure.

I'd assumed you were just ignorant, but it now appears that you're actually just kinda dumb. LA is 47% hispanic. So, statistically, 47% of the actors in LA should be... I'll let you fill in the blank.

The job should go to the person most suitable for the role. Be it black white yellow or red. It should NEVER go just to appease some skin color quota based off of guilt. But I can understand the dominance of whites in the entertainment industry as they will likely appeal to a country that is white majority. As I've said...I don't think it's racist that Bollywood is entirely east Asian and Chinese cinema is large oriental. And if Africa were to have their own entertainment industry would it be a huge crime that they were mostly black?

No. None of that is a crime. It's common sense for the population to what to see a reflection of themselves in entertainment. Which black people have already had based on their population representation. Now what happens if you suddenly decide that this needs to increase to even 20-25 percent because of guilt, and now a population that makes up only 12 percent of its people is representing 20-25 percent of the entertainment industry?

Hollywood was just fine. Their was nothing broken. Good black actors were always in the spotlight and have had their time to shine.

List me off the top of your head the crazy amount of movies that only have entirely white actors in. I mean if this is a systemic problem and a race that really should only represent 1 out of every 10 actors is severely under represented in Hollywood...this should be a very LONG list. Right? Because 10 percent representation (well 12.7) isn't all that great of a percentage...so clearly blacks are barely represented if at all, to be "severely under represented from 12.7 percent".

Since I already know that you can't. I have to conclude then that they are adequately represented in film, and dare I say over represented when compared to other minorities.

Engaging with guys like him is pointless. he has his world view and his bias and is not interested in expanding beyond it. Hollywood has been tackling internally the diversity issue for a few decades now. Like most industries where they were almost 100% white and male they saw the need to change. That change always leads to purposeful efforts to expand the sand box to others whether in front of or behind the camera.

Guys like him see those purposeful efforts and say 'hey unfair, you should not push jobs to 'others', let the white men keep competing as well or that is discrimination but what they never do is look at or care how biased and lopsided the system was prior.

Movies trying to draw an audience by playing to ethnicity or nationalism and trying to whip up pride have been part of the Hollywood formula forever. Pride sells and it sells across a broad spectrum. You never hear guys like him complaining when BraveHeart gets the same type of bump or when ethnic characters are replaced with white actors. This selective outrage only shows up when it goes one way and the poor downtrodden white males are being subjected to the same stuff everyone else has faced for decades. Then the cries of 'oh woe is me, make it stop' along the crocodile tears flow.
