Not the first time I've heard this compared to Bond. I really like T'challa/Panther, but I don't see the resemblence. T'challa is a king, Bond is an assassin. Black Panther is a far superior warrior, and prefers to fight up close and personal; I don't recall seeing Panther ever using firearms. Black Panther is Superhuman, Bond is just a very tough, highly trained man.

Beyond both characters being cool as fuck, I don't see the comparison.

I'm thinking the political intrigue, country hopping, bad guy out for revenge, lots of hand to hand combat. Some of the clips reminded me of Casino Royale.

well all know those Disney swag bags handed out at these early premieres come w/ a $10,000 check made out to CASH

A lot of those drippy responses read like they have a hard on for the movie because it is overwhelmingly black and features strong independent black women who don't need no man.

Hopefully, it is actually a good movie, which if it's anything like Black Panther's debut in Civil War it should be.

Oh a bunch of TLJ naysayers all of a sudden.

I loved the Last Jedi, my favorite Star Wars movie since '83.

Can't wait for Ep 9.

I feel that @Dragonlordxxxxx was a tad to hard on it in his review I also feel you kinda need to be more deep into Star Wars to truly appreciate the last movie.

Once people get over the shock of it all I think they will grow to love TLJ in the end... & once it's fit into the entire trilogy which is reported to be tying all 9 movies together I'm hoping some of the more questionable parts makes a lot more sense. Empire Strikes back was interestingly taken much the same way at the time & now it's considered one of the best.

I've been skeptical of black panther the whole time though... & it has nothing to do with "critic bashing" all these positive reviews. They're really going to have to knock it out of the ball park for me to get behind another super hero with claws & a batman suit who becomes superhuman through an ayahuasca ceremony & blessed by the Panther God. That said... I hope they wow me. I'd love to be entertained & get into the character if it works.

i take that as a compliment, considering his amazing acting ability
Oh, so you take the nickname you gave yourself as a compliment?

It's always wise to be skeptical of unqualified praise, but I am going to admit the "best MCU film since the Winter Soldier" kind of worked on me.

Hopefully if nothing else, this movie really does have an antagonist worthy of the hero.

I'm very confident of your last statement being the case and figured so even before I started hearing that Kilmonger is one of the best MCU villains ever.

My logic was simply this. Coogler loves working with Jordan. No way he has Jordan be a shit, uninteresting character. That is, the fact that Jordan is this particular role indicates that the role must be very compelling.

The Disney marvel universe is like Pixar. They only put out hits for the most part. It doesn’t get past the cutting room floor if it isn’t at least a good movie.

I have faith in Coogler. He keeps it incredibly real and seems genuine when it comes to directing movies.

I got my tickets for 15 Feb.

True MCU has gotten some damn good directors and when you have directors with vision- be it Branagh or Waititi or Coogler, you're even more likely to get a good movie.

I am pumped for the film, but am going to ignore the praise til I see it for myself.

I did the same for Wonder Woman. I felt it was getting too much early praise due to the fact it was helmed by a woman, and catered to a feminist ideal.

Luckily, it turned out it was just a very good film. I want this same feeling about Black Panther for myself.

Fixed.

T'Challa could have a Deadpool like opening, the Marvel Machine Roles on, and I remain an interested and mostly satisfied customer.

Lol look at this looks like this movie will cause butt hurt among certain dc Fans
