Waiting for the cries of marvel 'appropriating cultures' with this one

Would be silly. These are getting working black actors high profile roles. Comics are ahead of the curve on racial diversity. Panther is a popular character with lots of history in the marvel universe

Such Explosive. Much Athletic:)

Joking aside, it looks good. I just hope they don't nerf Klaw too much. MCU's weak point has always been it's Big Bads.

Damn, they got every black person they could to be in this movie. Creed is one of the villains. I saw the dude from Get Out there. Michonne from Walking Dead.

Hell, I think I may even be in there in the background somewhere along with @Mike, @GhostZ06 and @panamaican. I think @Falsedawn is the guy with the green zoot suit and green dinner plate in his mouth.

What about you, @Strychnine?

You KNOW that I'm in there!

I may or may not show up as Erik Killmonger.. :)

I've already seen people complain about the supporting cast and the choice of outfits, we shall see if that goes further than a few rumblings

Yeah that's a possibility, I can't think of any fantasy movies that I enjoy. Not sure why that's bizarre but what do I know.

Give me a movie based on a true story, albeit exaggerated to make it entertaining any day of the week. Mind you, in saying that I love Alien, Predator, Terminator and you could class them as fantasy so maybe it's just the superhero genre that I'm not keen on/don't understand.

This is normal for a lot of men to not like non fiction movies. Also this post tells me you maybe quite conscientious and orderly, but not creative.

Sure hope Tony Stark makes his contractually obligated cameo.

I'm so over comic book movies. There's absolutely no tension because there are no consequences. They're spectacles of boring. They're like Transformers with people. There's no character to the characters. Who really cares? Nothing in the stories actually matters. Nobody dies. The universe is tied in, but there are no consequences of to the outcomes of each individual story.
Comic book movies are this are generations westerns, ust like the 80s/90s had action movies, the fad will blow over (in saying this I like comic movies)

looks pretty cool, i hope the show Wakanda and how awesome it is at some point, but the civil unrest story that was in the comics was very good, hope it translates into the movie

This actually looks pretty good, I haven't really liked a MCU film since Winter Soldier. Director looks legit and the tone looks a tad bit more serious than other MCU films.

One thing I did laugh at was he's in this flying metal cat head that's all sleek and TRON-like -- and he's lifting-off away from a bunch of people living in hollowed-out caves. DEUCES, CAVE BLACKS! KING OUT!

BLACK PANTHER Trailer Racks Up 89 Million Views in First 24 Hours

Judging by the numbers, viewers are ready to take a trip to the African nation of Wakanda.

The teaser trailer for Black Panther, Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie based on the character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, generated 89 million views in the first 24 hours of its debut.

The spot debuted Friday during the first quarter of Game 4 of the NBA Finals on ABC. It was then released on various social media platforms.

The numbers are welcome news for Marvel as it shows strong interest in the upcoming stand-alone film, which is a gutsier venture for the studio that has in many cases relied on the familiarity of its main cast of Avengers to float its stand-alone pics. Black Panther features an unprecedented predominantly black cast and no box office titans, and, his appearance in 2016's Captain America: Civil War notwithstanding, stars a character that is not largely known on the level of other superheroes.

Chadwick Boseman is playing T’Challa, aka Black Panther, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda who must defend his people from threats internal and external. Ryan Coogler directed the movie that is set to bow Feb. 16, 2018.

The 89 million-view figure includes the 19 millions views from those watching the NBA Finals.

While the trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is Marvel and parent company Disney’s most-watched ever (with 136 million views), Black Panther lands in the top 3 of most-watched Marvel trailer content.

Black Panther surpasses the views for teasers for top Marvel and Disney-released movies such as Captain America: Civil War (61 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (55 million) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (52 million).

Black Panther was also massive on Twitter, generating 349,000 mentions in 24 hours. It generated more mentions than the NBA game during which it debuted, second only to the launch of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi teaser.

I didnt like it.

I dont need the constant urban culture reminder that our hero is black. Just make the damn comic book movie, dammit, we dont need an in our face reminder of the type of hero we have here.

I have my fingers crossed that it tries a few new ideas like Dr. Strange and isn't just putting something on screen for the sake of it, like Ant Man, Captain America, Winter Soldier, the Thor movies, etc.
