I missed Barroso's fight. Tbh I think people exaggerate their complaints about Conor's bjj. Or at least they use the wrong example. He looked far worse on the ground against Chad imo. If you're on the chin it hurts a lot and will break your jaw, but no choke

All I remember is it hurts lol. I remember getting caught in one of those. Not only my neck was hurting which made me worried, but my jaw was almost getting out of place. I could breath, even though it wasn't easy or comfortable.
Judging by the quicker taps, the fighters were in pain as well.
