I love these BJJ Scout breakdown videos (minus the robotic voice, but the content makes up for it), they are maybe better than the UFC's breakdown videos in terms of technical analysis, especially when it comes to the grappling aspect of fights.

Cliffs:
- Key areas for Max -
- Technical wrestling defence (particularly in clinch with wrist control and collar tie).
- Circling footwork, difficult to cut him off.
- Constantly finding angles, able to switches stances well when throwing combinations and when going backwards.
- Sneaky guillotine from opponents single/double leg attempts.
- Jab is his best offensive weapon. Also taunts uses slaps which could trigger Khabib into doing something reckless.
- Footwork will be key for this fight.
- Khabib starts weight cut from 187lbs. Normal weight cut, but 'harder than the acutal fight' according to Khabib's father. He's around 170lb 11 days before fight.

This is a good breakdown, but Holloway hasn't faced a good wrestler in forever. Even Khabib is a much better wrestler than anyone who Holloway has faced. Stephens, Lamas, Pettis, Miller, Swanson and Oliviera etc - they are not wrestlers and don't have strong takedowns/control in general.

He still picks Khabib to win, but I think what it comes down to is how conditioned Max will be for this fight.

If Max can last past the first few rounds and keep the distance, he could have a chance.

I think we're dealing with 2 different animals here. I mean Max is very technical and has good bjj, but he lacks the strength to fight off a dominant grappler like khabib. I think ultimately Max could have better bjj, but due to the grappling and strength of khabib it's not enough to win that way. Striking I give to Max no doubt.

BJJ Scout and Jack Slack are the best.

A different type of scout is gonna be needed first to track down Khabib. LMAO

Yeah I agree. There are few (if any?) eltite level wrestlers in the division and the best wrestler is suspended (Mendes).

BJJ Scout is more a "how we can see Khabib lose" with 100 videos about Khabib youtube chanel.
I dont take this chanel that serious honestly.

This fight would seem a lot more competitive if Max wasn't one week off the couch after having been out with an injury for a couple months.

Sure wish the UFC had gone with Ortega. Just one month out of camp and injury free. And with a next-level BJJ game the likes of which Khabib has never seen before.

This has me thinking that it won't be a total mauling. In fact, now I want Max to win. But it's just not going to happen.
