BJJ Private lessons $$$ too much ? $$$

I think there too high-- why cant they just be more reasonable--

lower prices = more people = more money

high prices= less people= less money

I would expect between $40-$100---$100 for the top top level guys

maybe a private once in a while is good --if ur really stuck-- but u can learn well from class/ instructionals also--

i cudnt afford 3 privates a week like the poster above though

privates are great, its a shame when the academy does not offer privates for less than $100

How can an academy offer do privates for less than $100???? Quite often it is just not feasibly the minimum is like 60-70$ assuming the guy pays all taxes which are at least 30% here. If not tax is paid then yea....

That's a bad assumption. Why not take money under the table for privates? Assuming private lessons are not the main source of income it would be very easy to hide that money.

Yea, I spend a lot of money BJJ in general. I am currently getting ready for Worlds so I am only doing privates at this point.

I don't come from money, I don't have a car payment and changed all my spending habits. I make good money, not great money, but still I can't keep this up forever. Trust me....

GBYorba_Fighter,

Damn bro. I feel that your instructor should hook you up with a discount. You are paying alot! Most instructors have package deals on privates. I know there are a lot of black belt instructors in your area that would teach you privately for a lot less since you're taking so many within a month.

My instructor is a brown belt, he does privates 20$/hour
