BJJ players with advanced degrees

I am doing PhD in genetics and molecular biology, someone I've competed against is doing his PhD in something engineering related. One of my friends and former training partners is PhD in microbiology and is now on his second Post-Doc contract in Colorado. Our purple belt is teaching in college and has Masters in civil engineering.

There are a lot well educated people in BJJ. In fact, I think BJJ appeals to these kinds of people as opposed to striking arts.
 
2.5 months until my MD

Already have a masters in health sciences.
 
The cost of BJJ tuition may lead to a higher percentage of participants with advanced degrees than say boxing which is usually relatively cheap.
 
Soon to be (hopefully) a master in musicology.
Just need to write that damn thesis.
 
I'm in my last year of undergrad with plans to attend law school next year. I've taken the lsat and what not.

Sweet, another biologist. There's quite a few law students and lawyers here so it's nice to see representation in the sciences.

My main training partner also has a masters in human genetics.
 
<-- JD, currently in law school. been training 7 yrs, bjj great way to break up the monotony of class and homework.
 
2 bachelors: Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and finishing my masters in computer science
 
I have a MSEE and most of a Ph.D in engineering. One course before completion, I decided I finally had enough school and dropped out to spend more time with what was important to me. Also I put myself through an honors BA in English which was completely unmarketable until I got engineering credentials.

We used to have a joke: everyone knows what BS means, so MS stands for More of the Same, and Ph.D stands for Piled Higher and Deeper.

One of good friends/training partner is a PHD in genetics. Another has a masters in engineering.

So, yeah...lots of higher level education...lots of cops and fire fighters too.
 
Would you count a double major or 2 degrees as an advanced degree?
