BJJ/Judo and Ritalin/Adderall?

My name does actually end in Ph.D., a degree I received from an R1 school. But why would you assume it does not? In addition I have worked with some of the top cardiologists in the world, which is where I get my opinion of ritalin. Again, most doctors (well pretty much every single family practice MD that precribes this drug) do not do proper testing when prescribing these drugs and they can lead to sudden death. Does it happen a lot? NO. But if you are the 1 person that has an undiagnosed heart defect, takes these, and works out, it might be a huge mistake. I have seen death from this drug, ritalin, specifically. No one should be encouraging anyone to use this drug without thorough testing and especially when working out. And I can bet that every person on this board that has taken it, even with a drs rx, has not had proper testing because its too expensive and family practice mds do not even have it in their office.

could you PM me your linkedin and sources to support your claims? i don't mean to be belligerent, but if I'm misinformed I'd at least like the opportunity to review the supporting literature.

also, i would like to point out that you make quite a few inferences here, generalizing that family practice doctors (and not psychiatrists) are prescribing these drugs, and that folks haven't had 'proper testing'.

my dad had congestive heart failure in 2001 and pericarditis causing atrial fibrillation in 2005. we also have a history of heart disease on his side.

but please keep telling me i wasn't properly tested. i'm sure my cardiologist must have been deficient in his training, he's never claimed to be 'among the best in the world'...

also, and this is anecdotal and therefore subjective and inconclusive, but out of the 3 commonly prescribed ADHD drugs i tried, methylphenidate provided me with the lowest RHR.

i don't think you're completely full of shit, but you're talking in the types of hysterically broad generalizations folks full of shit let come fallin' out of their mouths...

Just do 30 seconds of searching on google and you will find peer reviewed research on the topic. I should not need to tell you that, especially as someone that is actually taking this drug...you should do some research on all drugs you are taking.
