Hey guys,

I've just released a brand new app out with BJJ black belt Rob Biernacki. It's called the BJJ Back Attacks Formula. It's a truly comprehensive 3 hour and 20 minutes step-by-step formula for taking the back, staying on the back, and submitting your opponent from the back.

You can get a quick sense of what's on the app from the video above, and/or a more detailed breakdown of the content on this page on Grapplearts.com.

This one took forever to make, in part because of how much bloody material there is on it. But the result is a fantastically good guide to the rearmount, which is both the most dominant position in BJJ and also a position that a lot of people have trouble with

Here's a preview:

Cheers

SK

P.S. Here are the direct links to the app in the various app stores

PERFECT!

....now if i could only take someone's back :(

Well fortunately here's the first excerpt of the app for you with the most popular and powerful way to take the back used in high level competition!

Just got this yesterday so maybe half way through. So far extremely pleased. Excellent detail and principles. Can't wait to use this material! I was afraid this might be a rehash of Ryan Hall's work but its full of concepts and explanation that differentiates it from that series.

Here is the next excerpt: the low hook method of taking the back. I always used to have trouble with this, but after Rob showed me the trick it feels like I'm levitating into position!

Here is one more preview from the app. This is about the really important concept of the Strong and Weak Sides of Rearmount...

Excellent resource that is a steal at the price. Highly recommended!

When we released the app we promised to have a Q&A session about the material. Here is the first video answer to a question about the rolling back attacks segment:

And here is the second question: it was about the apparent contradiction between us advocating Marcelo Garcia style strong side rearmount vs Rener Gracie style weak side rearmount

I have this app and I certainly recommend it. Lots of good information, very detailed, and a steal at the price. Over 3 hours of content usually costs a lot more money in my experience.

Rather than start a new thread for each of the Rearmount Q&A videos I'm just going to add them onto here. Here's the next one about how to trap an arm while taking the back!

I love that you guys are open to the discussion and making (free!) response videos like this. It's really cool and shows the confidence you have in your material.

I'm glad someone asked about this. The rener vid helped a lot with my back control, because sometimes for whatever reason I end up on the weak side.

My strong side has always been weak, actually. My partner usually starts escaping so I tend to kick them off to take a seatbelt style side control to attack the reverse Ezekiel or an armbar, which works pretty good, but I always wondered why I struggled getting chokes with the supposed strong side back control, and that detail you mentioned about building base on the elbow made it click for me. My strong side back control always had my upper arm on the ground, which not only affords less base, but the mat blocks my elbow from rotating in the choking direction.

So yeah, cool stuff, thanks!

Hey, I'm glad you found it useful. There are people who make the strong side work lying on their side, but getting up into base on that elbow makes a huge difference. And for the guy on the bottom it makes him feel that much more constrained.

I am currently editing and uploading a few more Q&A videos. Hopefully have the next one on this thread by tomorrow

WS4L ;)

Here's the fourth video in the Q&A series related to the app. This one is all about getting the back if you're a big guy...

When is the next installment coming out?

If you mean the next Q&A video, then hopefully tonight!

If you mean the next app in the series (which will be "The BJJ Top Game Formula") then hopefully later this coming week. This will deal with guard passing and top control from a scientific, systematic perspective. It's really good and working with Rob filming this has already changed the way that I pass guard.

Here is the next Q&A Video. It's about exactly how to chain your submissions from the back together so one defense from your opponent leads into your next attack...

Yeah i meant the next app. How many apps are there going to be in total and what are they?
