Unfortunately, it looks like BJ Penn's vision is deteriorating

"People ask me all the time if I'm going to fight again and I almost just want to change the subject because right now, I definitely don't want to fight with a cataract in my eye," said Penn on BJPENN.com.

Penn has not opened up about his future since his December defeat to Rory MacDonald, after returning from his original retirement which last about a year. That loss made him 1-4 since 2010 and caused UFC president*Dana White*to call for Penn to retire.

"If I go in the gym and I'm knocking down all my sparring partners and doing awesome I would definitely think of fighting again," said Penn.

He's one of those guys that always goes through a tough time, and makes it out of the tough time, so I hope & feel that BJ will be back for another fight, its in his blood mang, he licks it off his hands when he gets the chance :-)

I think BJ Penn should just retire at this point. It hurts because he's one of my favourites of all time.

Maybe hel'll be smart and take a fight at LW if he decides to come back

If Penn hasn't found a reason to get "motivated" yet, I dont see it coming. His talent is simply not any better than the competition and I think he must be getting the point where he knows that. Plus he isn't a great athlete compared to competition.

BJ is the man. I'll always be a fan. It's tough watching him get his ass kicked by this bigger guys at 170. Fitch (3rd round), Nick, and Rory have done a number on him, here. If he can't make 155, he needs to retire. No need for a legend like BJ to stick around and keep taking these beatings. He's still the GOAT of 155.

So if he knocks down his can sparring partners he will come back? Bad idea. He's done, had a great run beat the shit out of Hughes which makes him ok in my book.

Future HOF easy

He's done enough in the sport to retire, he has solidified a solid legacy already, I think the longer he sticks around the more his reputation is going to be tarnished.

Can't fight with a bad eye. Not at the level that fighters are now.

It's been a pleasure and pain to watch you fight, Baby J. Probably time to hang em up for good and enjoy your life.

Penn definitely doesn't have a title run in him but neither did Hughes at the end of his career he just faught non contenders and did really well. BJ could do the same if he wanted

Hes never going to accomplish what he wants to, which is to be a dominant champ.

One last fight (against Gomi?) just for the W and then retire.

Will always be a fan of his fights, and I think he really doesn't have anything left to prove. If he does come back I hope its at lw, and I hope they give him a winnable fight. That way he can end on somewhat of a high note.

Retire and use his great skills and knowledge to train the next generation of "prodogies".

this is just so wrong lol his level of talent is through the roof compared to almost everyone in any sport his work ethic and gameplanning are well below standard for the times. bj is still the best boxer and bjj practitioner the lw division has seen to date and his wrestling isnt half bad , but when your opponent is bigger stronger faster its hard to keep up with just talent. its the old adage hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard.
