Bitememouthguards for MMA, Hybrid or Mega?

Was curious which one would be ideal for grappling and kickboxing classes with an occasional MMA fight here and there? Could you get away with the Hybrid or should i go with the Mega, and how close are the two in size comparison? If the Mega is NOT much bigger than i would just go with the Mega! What's the turnaround time on a mouthguard from biteme as well?

Thanks guys, i know alot of discussion has been brought up lately about mouthguards and YES ive searched but havent really been able to answer my own questions.
 
I believe the hybrid will do however if you expect to take lots of headshots on a regular basis in sparring go with the mega. I think generally the turnaround for their mouthguards is about a month, all depends on how fast you send back the mould.
 
How big are you? More appropriately, how big are the people that will be punching you in the teeth? In this question lies your answer.
 
I walk around about 180 give or take a few pounds either way.
 
Hmmmm... I'd go with the Hybrega, then.

Actually, you're probably ok w/ a hybrid. I've heard people recommend Megas for HW's and maybe LHW's. Just don't fight Phenom w/ it.
 
I'm getting one soon and I'm gunna get the mega. I'm around 200lbs though and will probably eventually get bigger.
 
Im a lightweight at 145 and I was recommended a hybrid. I ordered it so I will let you know how it fits wen I receive the item with pictures. I heard mega is sort of big in ur mouth.

Please do, I also fight at 145 and am looking at a bitme in the future, I'm definitally intrested in looking at pics and hearing about your experience.
 
Hey guys ,

Joe from Bite Me. Sounds like everyone knows whats up with the guards, your all right. If your a welter weight a Hybrid will work fine and a heavy weight go with the Mega. The thickness of the guards is about the same only difference is about 1/2mm thats it. Light weights can go with whatever guard they want . We have designed the above guards with different weights in mind. Any questions please call me at 949-933-9994
 
Thanks Joe, i order my impression kit today and plan on getting it right back to you ASAP. Hopefully i can get it back in time for my first fight which may happen on Feb 18th hopefully, but none the less i will post pics and a review myself if you guys are interested.

I'm intrested for sure, if you could take some pics of the impression kit that they send you, I'm intrested to see what that process is like.

The kit from Gladiator includes two mouth trays and two trays worth of two different colors of the model material, which must be some sort of epoxy since mixing activates the hardening. You just knead until it's uniform in color, push it into the mouth tray, insert and press into your teeth. They explain the particulars.

I'm sure all the customs do it the same way.

Yeah, BiteMe's kit is exactly the same. Two different size molding trays...
 
Well my girl is a dental assistant and made me a mouth guard once but i didnt care for it too much, so i guess if i need any help making the impressions she would be the one to help.

I'll take pics of everything i can think of for you Adino and post when i get the kit and take the impressions.

Actually, I believe Gladiator send you 2 kits of the same size. Bite Me send two different sized kits of when you only make one impression as opposed to (what I understand) that you send back two impressions for Gladiator.
 
Eventhough I'll mostly be doing BJJ, as a HW I'm going to be getting the Mega. Better safe than sorry.
 
I'm a LW-WW (around 70kgs) and I'm ordering a mega. I'm usually the smallest guy at training and well hockey (my other use for it) is open weight so I figured I'll spend the extra to protect myself

Still waiting on the kit but i will definatley take some pics for ya.
