Bitcoin currency of the future?

If anyone is interested in a few coins that have a lot of people talking and that definitely seem to have a bright future:

-XLM
-REQ
-BQX
-VEN

Noob here but willing to try this out with maybe $500 investment.

1) To understand it more, there's different digital currencies and different values? In other words, I'd be investing in a currency and not all of them will be successful?

Yes, some will live and some will not. Some are used exclusively as currencies and others are used for other things (ie.; to power the network, to pay fees, ect)

2) I need a digital wallet to buy these currencies. Is there one that you guys suggest?

No, just download coinbase and get started (or use Gemini). Then transfer to GDAX using your Coinbase login, then transfer to Binance/Bittrex/Gate to trade.

3) Which currencies do you guys suggest for a beginner?

ETH is what I always point people towards, but there are several good coins out there.

Thank you Sherbros

I'd love to give you some better advice, but part of the process of picking something that might hit big is researching what you're investing in. Go to www.coinmarketcap.com and click on a coin with a name you like. Scroll to the bottom and look for the 'Social' tab and click that. This will more often than not lead you to their reddit page. On that reddit page will be copious amounts of information of what that coin is there to do. Read into it. It's honestly 80% of the fun for me.

How do you guys get your coins to show up on MEW consistently? My QASH never shows up. I see it on Etherscan but on MEW its never there. Any advice you guys have who have added custom coins before?

Well that was diaapointing, sold out my Tron for a very, and I mean very small profit (0.004 bitcoin from the 0.2 I invested). I should have sold at least half when it hit 30 but the rumours of who the huge partnership may be had me feeling greedy. Glad I set my alarm this morning to watch it live.

It will probably sky rocket back up now.
Will there has been a lot of money to be made from Tron, it's looking more and more like a scam coin. I would personally avoid it and put money into other coins now.

I dont trust this digital bullshit. I will always have my gold and land. Fck this bitcoin nonsense.

Never trust anything you cant touch motherfuckers.
There are a lot of scammers out there, but it's silly to think this is all bullshit when there is a massive backing behind some of these projects.

It's insane how many twitter accounts and such are pumping bullshit just like with penny stocks. I never get into social media beyond the occasional Facebook perusal, so I find it all nauseating.

Just saw one saying the XRB bubble had passed new investors by, but the time is ripe for Pascal Coin. That just sounds awful.

Any Canadians here doing this? Any luck with Quadrigacx or are you using something else?

I use Quadriga, but lately the funding options have become more awkward and expensive. Being in Canada I haven't been able to find a better option for making larger purchases. I've used Coinbase as well but you can only make small buys with it

Just found a couple of good Crypto tutorials on udemy.. pretty cheap to at £10 a pop for 3 hours worth of lectures, the one i got was by James Part Time.. seems pretty good so far.

Coinbase won't let you convert into Canadian dollars, is that right? Could I just send coins from Coinbase to Quadriga and then take it out in CAD?

You can buy and sell in Canadian dollars on Coinbase, but there's a daily spending cap up to $250.00. It's more convenient because you can just use a credit card and there's less verification shit to do, but if you're looking to spend thousands you're better off with Quadriga. It has a bunch of hoops to jump through - sending in scans of your ID for example - but then you can fund via bank wire and shit like that and play around with larger amounts

Their site says,

As of August 1, 2016, Coinbase’s Canadian payments provider, Vogogo, has shut down its payment processing business. Because of this, Coinbase is no longer be able to support Canadian EFT transfers, Interac transfers, the storage of customer CAD, or the conversion of digital currency into CAD.

Did this change recently or do I have this all wrong? Are credit cards the only way to use Coinbase from Canada?

For those wondering how to get into the game quick, sign up for MULTIPLE exchanges/companies that take fiat. Gemini / Cex.io / Coinmama ect. Do some research on how to get in multiple ways. That’s how I started out. $100 here, $200 there. Survival of the fittest. Fuck Coinbase.

Few notes: QASH is about to pass Ark on CMC. A company that’s incredibly solid with an amazing product. Ark holds a sentimental value to me and they’ll always be in my portfolio because them and STRAT were the first Alts I bought. But, QASH is 100% absolutely useless right now. It’s a nothing burger. I hold 5x’s the amount of QASH in coins and value than I do Ark, but damn it’s crazy to me.

The VEN subreddit went from 11k subscribers to 14k in less than 2 days. REQ was very similar with this pattern. Just letting you guys know.

I'm on board with REQ. Portfolio is gonna look like XRB, XRP, XLM, and REQ. Thinking about also adding a little Ethereum to hold on to instead of converting it all to different alt coins every time I buy it.

A few more tips on up and coming monsters (with ultra low market caps) that will likely go 100x this year when they launch on exchanges.

BitDegree - look out for this hitting exchanges late Jan/Early Feb. They have a solid team, ex-Electronics Arts founder is a core adviser, and they are looking to completely overhaul the outdated education system using blockchain. ICO sold out in days - very strong community support.

Singularity NET - Real life Skynet. Decentralised marketplace for AIs to talk to each other and trade skills/functional expertise, allowing businesses and users to monetize specific AIs and auto-enhance them based on needs.

INS Ecosystem - Superstar team, all ex-Harvard Business School, etc. Looking to revolutionalize the way the grocery industry works, by connecting consumers directly to manufacturers using decentralised blockchain app, reducing prices by cutting out middle-men like retailers, supermarkets etc. Huge potential.

Look out for all of these on coinmarketcap around late Jan/Feb and check what exchanges they are trading under - and snap them up quick, and hold for the next two years.

I can't believe the day i finally decided to invest in some of these coins the binance website suspended new registrations
