Bitcoin currency of the future?

The big players are the ones benefiting the most and I don’t see why they would pull out now with its current growth and expansion in the world. I’m not saying that it free falling is out of the question but I think it needs to be something really big for it to get to a point of going down to no return. We just had a massive crash and it’s holding strong so why wouldn’t it will go up?

Obviously I don’t really know what is going to happen but for me it’s worth investing some money I can afford to lose in the cryptocurrencies I believe in. Plus even if the market as a whole does go down may actually benefit and push the good cytocurrencies up.

Have you ever seen any kind of analogous situation .......ever?

" sign up here for the free money " is essentially what the bitcoin schtick is now. If that doesnt raise your spidey senses I don't know what would. Juicy opportunities as far as investments go are generally the ones you get into before 98% of the populace knows what the fuck is happening .

It is the miners and exchanges that are making money.

Beanie babies and other stupid collectible trends are analogues. Bitcoin cannot be used as a currency. That has been established. It is too slow and other technical issues. It is a currency that nobody is using so is being held as a collectible. lol. Like fuckin fools. It will be like a disco record.

Crypto could be the future but it most certainly will not be bitcoin. Other cryptos are much better suited. Like Kodak, Bitcoin will perish in an industry it pioneered.

The last post in this image reminds me of that Das guy. Just hold, man. lol.

sounds like insider trading to me

What do you mean?

Do you think the general public being aware of and clamoring for the opportunity to get rich quick the eazy fool proof way and it Playing out that way is the more likely way this ends? That all you've gotta do is pony up the dough and you......yes you too can be a gazzilionare by next Xmas ? The only knowledge and time that the majority of these Johnny come lately types have invested is listening to headlines.....the fact that THAT is the bar of entry here now tells you everything you need to know about where that train is heading

Judging by the way coinbase and other exchanges have been operating, if there is a panic many people won't even be able to cash out as the price is falling. They will just disable withdrawals.

I withdrew just fine, most of what I had in there, all at once

That's not what I was getting at. When did you withdraw? If everyone tries to withdraw, they absolutely will slow down or shut down. It's happened before with coinbase:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/comments/7ldp79/why_are_all_transactions_unavailable_and_all/

https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/search?q=disabled&restrict_sr=on
https://www.reddit.com/r/CoinBase/search?q=disabled+selling&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all

It seems to coincide when the prices move sharply.

This guy had his sell function disabled.

I withdrew yesterday night, today morning. Was fine with no delay. I'm not arguing that it can't happen temporarily.

Now, Coinbase CAN be really fussy during times of high-trade, so I'm not shilling for them. Just giving my experience (and I actually was a little surprised, to be honest). The reason I was surprised is because I thought all transactions were frozen, as was reported. I am still not able to buy or sell anything on their site, only transfer it somewhere else (out of their exchange to another exchange or personal wallet).

There are other exchanges which are much smoother to use than coinbase, but they're also a little more confusing for the beginner. Most of them are, not all of them.

Investing in any business that isn't your own is essentially "signing up for free money." If we are talking about just Bitcoin then it may well start to lose pace with its rivals, However how long before another annoouncement of a 'Segwit2x' like fork where everyone will jump on the bitcoin bandwagon again? After that who knows, most of my cyptocurrency isn't actually in Bitcoin itself but in promising alt coins.

I'm looking at cryptocurrency as being the future and evolution of money in an ever expanding market. What happens if it actually becomes mainstream, where everday people are using it for every day stuff? We are clearly looking at this from differnt perspectives, I guess we will have to wait until next year to find out. All I know is I'm investing, but thanks for the advice.

In the latter case of it being used on a mass scale, consider a coin having a market cap in the tens of trillions.

My bold prediction is that we will see the crypto market as a whole rival the NYSE in market cap within 5 years.

Ardor Genesis snapshot launches in 24 hours, with the platform following on the 1st of January. Could it be worth at very least a short term play here? If the platform is as good as expected to be it may be a long term hold as well. Im no expert by any means so please don't invest without doing your own research first.

However I get the feeling we may be coming into a Bitcoin run, which if history shows us anything means the alts will be stagment or slightly drop until Bitcoin stabilises before they all follow suit.

I got in at 0.02 cents and been loving this. Also jumped on trx as i can see that blowing up at some point too.

I have been looking into Tron... still seems like a good buy at 3.5 cents. I could see it going up to 20 cents by next year.

The range of people you have here is pretty interesting. You have die hard detractors that are likening cryptos to beanie babies (lmao) and then you have hysterical fan boys that feel they are going to turn $27 into the fortune of their lifetime.

Markets been relatively steady through the weekend holiday, wonder if it picks up or cools off in the new year.

I think somebody said it in this thread already, and it should be repeated again. In the old days, the people that got rich during the gold rushes weren't the miners. Most of them actually ended up with very little and quite a few went broke. It was the people selling shovels and booze that were the real beneficiaries.

The exchanges are absolutely making a killing off this market.

why do you think it will rise?

It’s got a very experienced team and it’s only getting better. The idea behind it could be revolutionary if they actually manage to pull it off. It’s a bit like IOTA in the sense that it’s all theory at the moment but that also means it also has a lot of potential for growth.

I’m actually waiting to see if Bitcoin goes on a surge before I invest in any more alts but it’s definitely one of the coins I am keeping an eye on.

Firstly, they are exploding. Have you even looked at any crypto charts? Funny thing is, if we are being totally honest here. You would have said the exact same thing last year.

The reason they could all grow is because they are extremely promising projects with amazing teams behind them and are relatively young in development. That along side a lot of hype surrounding them in an ever growing economy. But you go ahead and explain to us all again how you have better odds in roulette or sticking your small cock up the ashes of my dead mother.

Or the world could move on from crypto because it has not proved to be useable, lots of people have lost money, and people lose interest fast.
