Bitcoin currency of the future?

If you want to compare it to google, What is bitcoins business plan? How does bitcoin make money?

It's not a business plan. Trust me, in a few years, a lot of online transactions will use blockchain in some form or another. The most trusted blockchain at that time, will actually be worth something outside of the speculative bubble.

I'm about to triple my money. Around that time, I am going to liquidate what I put in and extract something like 25 to 50% profit and then ride the rest. At that point, it's not really my money.

IF it crashes at some point, I'll sell, but I'm then buying back in with the profits off that sell when it bottoms. I think long term it will be fine.

Bit more measured here.

You were in early enough to reap the rewards and you're going to protect yourself moving forward by essentially playing with your winnings. Makes sense.

I'm just providing some sense of caution to the "It's only going up, get in and get in NOW!" crowd.

Why is it valuable? In 1 year what is the price of BTC / ETH / LTC?

What is it in 5 years?

I hope ethereum gets its shit together. Im a huge believer in their tech and cant wait to see what they do.

See, you can't just say shit like this.

What is their "tech", why are you a "huge believer", why is it valuable?

"I really hope Dope Pharmaceuticals gets its shit together. I'm a huge believer in their pipeline and can't wait to see what they do"

Are you investing in Dope Pharmaceuticals now?

You didnt answer my question
Why don't you actually quote me so I get a notification you responded. There is no business development team behind bitcoin. It's an asset. What's the business strategy for the us dollar? Or gold? It's a silly question

It was a general statement not a breakdown of ethereum to explain it to sherdog. Would you like me to provide you a video explaining ethereum in depth?

Sure. Anything would be better than just spouting excited comments.

That comment was ridiculous... "I hope Ethereum gets their shit together."

Wait so their shit isn't together? Why not? What are they dropping the ball on? What do they need to do to "get their shit together"?

I'm not trying to be overly critical here... but to an outsider you just sound like an excited fool that's just piling on the blind hype train.

They're shit not being together = the scaling issues that they've been having with the platform.

I can say whatever I want and you are being overly critical. Instead of saying "hey could you explain? I don't get It" you start insulting me and telling me what I can and can't say. I just made a general statement. I'm not required to break down the technical aspect of everything I say. If you would like me to break something down, to the limited degree that I can, just ask instead of being a dick.

Ethereum is both a cryptocurrency and an app building platform for building decentralized apps. It's programmable money. It was also created by an alien genius. I'll post a video when I'm back from lunch.

Does Der Eisbar literally spend every waking moment staring at these charts? Anyone notice how often he posts about gains? He must spend all day on coinbase, jesus christ. Imagine of these guys actually spent this time learning code or something useful. The ones making the big bucks will be the developers of the technology, meanwhile the majority will lose out.

Crypto investors are the new vegans. They'll tell you right away about their new hobby.

If you elect to enter a thread about that topic, some of them understandably will.

I watch charts all day while I'm at work.

There have been numerous millionaires created from cryptocurrencies and most of them are not coders.

I started off in this thread giving you advice that you were asking for, and now you're being a dick. Why?

I think Amazon are looking to take over this space. They've registered a lot of cryptocurrency related ips in the last few years, and said many times they're not interested in bitcoin.

I was just about to post this: https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech...-three-cryptocurrency-domain-names/823546001/

Amazon has secured three domain names? amazonethereum.com, amazoncryptocurrency.com, amazoncryptocurrencies.com.

What happens if Amazon accepts bitcoin? Bitcoin skyrockets to $100,000 and I lost my opportunity to become a millionaire? That really sucks.

Why wouldn't Amazon or Google make their own digital currency?

I think they are. If Amazon decided today that they wanted to take bitcoin they could be set up to do so before the end of the year. The only other reason I imagine they're registering these properties is because They're working on their own.

How or where do I buy a hardware wallet?
Amazon. I recommend the nano ledger s or the trezor.
Two more questions:

1) Can I actually buy anything with bitcoin or ethereum? Can I convert them into US dollars?

2) What do you think of this article about bitcoin: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/12/07/kev...et-not-a-currency.html?recirc=taboolainternal
1) Ethereum is mostly used for powering apps on the ethereum platform. Its not a crypto meant for transactions really. Exchanges like coinbase/exchange allow you to change your bitcoin and eth directly into USD.
Here's a list of places that accept bitcoin:
https://99bitcoins.com/who-accepts-bitcoins-payment-companies-stores-take-bitcoins/
Japan officially recognized it as a legally accepted form of payment and over 4000 retailers in japan accept it. Japan is always ahead of the tech curve, similar behavior will follow in the US and elsewhere
2) Right now bitcoin is very volatile. It's an investment in a new emerging commodity/asset class. Once bitcoin reaches it's final form (peak value, probably 1-5 million/coin) it stabilizes and becomes a stable currency.
