Bitcoin currency of the future?

Why do you think this year will be insane? Can you shill me please :)?

The momentum is still up, regardless of a 2-3 day pullback. And more people than ever are investing in Cryptos.
Hype begets hype. This previous year was absolutely insane. Bitcoin did 10-20x (depending on which day you look at its price haha). The market cap as a whole grew from 16 billion to 600 billion. The bulls are as hot as ever and looking for the next bitcoin/eth/litecoin/xvg price explosion. 2018 is the year of the alt coin.

Think about this. Despite 2017s explosive growth in the market, it still hasn't hit the mainstream. Your average person has no fucking clue what cryptocurrencies are and they may have heard something about bitcoin but know nothing. There is still virtually no institutional money in the space. No 401ks investing, no hedge funds, think I heard something about bitcoin etfs. When real institutional money gets involved it's going to get insane. On top of that most of this tech hasn't even begun to see real actual functional adoption.

When these balls start rolling into place 2018 is going to get explosive. I think we're in a cooling off period that may even last until March or April. After that it's gonna be a fun ride.

So you're telling me to cash out my IRA and invest it all in Dogecoin?

Too late - I already did it.

I know to just ride it out, but it still sucks to lose thousands of dollars in a few hours.

Literally just bought into this shit yesterday. Fuck the police.

Im about to sign up to binance and make my first crypto purchases

Many many years late to the party, i remember reading about bitcoin on the misc on bodybuilding.com literally 8 years ago

Dont even know what im going to buy yet, will see what tickles my fancy

Isn't bitcoin the most stable? I figured I could ride it for a day or two, let it increase before making moves.

Any suggestions?

It's unlikely that bitcoin is the coin to buck the trend. I'd buy my portfolio now while they're all down if I were you. Sure they might be down more tomorrow or they might be up.

All you know is right now they're cheap.

It’s the best store of value on the market.

Right now the MarketCap is sitting at $651B and it fell from around $722B in a matter of hours. Right now is when you buy in because you know it’s already hit the $722B ceiling. It’s positioned to go up even further as more media covers it and the buzz keeps going.

I’d suggest learning about what types of different coins are out there. Then find one you like and read about the company, what they hope to solve, how it’s coin fits in and predictions as to where they’re headed. I’m a believer that a lot of these coins are shit. I try to pick mine off of ones that’ll swim above the crap when the real correction happens. If S.Korean news can come out and sink the market that much in hours, what happens when something even bigger happens? Just be prepared.

That said, I’m holding:

VEN / QASH / REQ / ETH / NEO / ARK / STRAT.

QASH and REQ is my biggest gambles, but all the others are pretty safe picks imo.

Ive just deposited my first bit of money to get a taste of this coin game

Transferred £300 from my account to coinbase, bought bitcoin, transferred to binance and got £275 worth of bitcoin

So i paid roughly $40 in fees on £300...... disgusting

Ive just bought 30 VEN, anyway sol when they reach 1000 a piece i will forget about this $40 worth of fees, but until then, im pissed

You could have bought Ethereum or Litecoin, they only cost like 1 dollar to transfer and they're much faster. Then you could trade on binance to bitcoin (if you need to, Ethereum has a lot of trading pairs, it likely might have been a trading pair for VEN) and you could have saved a lot of money that way.

Live and learn, the beginning is never optimal. $40 isnt that much in the short run anyway so don't worry. You're going to lose more on opportunities (it can be profitable but rarely optimal) every time you hold or trade, that's just how it works.

Youre right and thanks for the tip

I actually bought VE with my BTC so yeah, definitely should have started with ETH, lesson learned, i will do that next time

Used half the money to buy VE as i said, only got 30 which is meh, just doing a bit more reading, will probably put the rest on VE too then add more money for other coins
