Granted his level of competition is still not all that great at all, Sage did actually show some improvements in his last fight, he mixed in some nice takedowns and showed some pretty decent level changes.

He’s not as young as Erick Silva, but Sage is still a young fighter, he can grow if he stays at a legit camp.

Kid is good, but it´s LW division: the deepest and most talented division there is. So it´s a tough road ahead of him.

Besides the striking killers (Conor, Ferguson, Barboza, Poirier, MJ) the top 15 LW is full of strong grapplers and bjj guys that could easily take him down and finish him, like Khabib, Lee, Alvarez, Gaethje, Chiesa, Diaz, Dariush.

But obviously he should be getting matched up against lower level ranking guys like himself and evolving little by little, there´s no reason to throw him against top dogs yet. There´s a lot of room for improvement though, so maybe a few years from now, if he keeps improving and getting good match ups, he maybe break into the top 15. Let´s see.

Sage did look very good IIRC. And the guy is 21 (!) years old. Just look where some of the top fighters today were doing when they were 21: Whittaker was getting finished by some cab driver in China, Anderson had just begun his MMA-career in some abandoned farm in Brazil, DJ only had 2 pro fights etc.

Maybe he ends up being a dominant champion in 5 years, you never know.

He looked good his last fight against the level of guy he should be fighting imo. Took his time, didn't rush things and won a lopsided decision.

If his dad stays the fuck out of his career and he stays at alpha male he may be able to make something of himself.
