Media Bisping addresses detractors of his commentating on Izzy-Whitaker 2

fans will literally hate Joe rogan, autism king Dominik Cruz, Bisping, whos next?
Usually if somebody else has a different opinion they will get attacked regardless of who it is lol. Fanboys will be fanboys.

If anything, I think he gave Whittaker too much credit.
He gave Whittaker literally none and acted like Adesanya dominated 4 and a half rounds, surely you're not one of the morons who thought Adesanya won 5-0 are you?

Well, it was a close yet decisive win for Adesanya. The vast majority agrees with this, but of course there is a vocal minority who whines. I don’t think the commentating was particularly bad or biased, but then again it was a boring fight and I didn’t give it 100% attention. Based on what I saw, Whittaker won 2 rounds in my book but neither of them were in any danger. The takedowns resulted in absolutely nothing and I wouldn’t score them other than Whittaker very briefly taking control of the round.

When Hunt Lesnar peds scandal was at it peak Hunt fought Werdun. In the fight Werdum illegally grabbed the cage 7 times without a single comment, he then legally puts his hand on the cage and they quickly point that this instance is legal.

.......what?

Don't even DARE try to explain yourself MICHAEL, we will never forgive you for your transgressions.

From Ping's YouTube channel:

DIRTY CLIFFS

- says it's close, "THIS close!" but still maintains Izzy won it clearly, probably 4-1
- Adesanya's TDD is "very, very good", and Robert did not get into a dominant position (this despite recognizing Rob was able to take Izzy's back, in the same breath)
- "Why would I be biased? I really like Robert Whitaker. I'm a big fan of the guy.... trust me, trust me. It wasn't a case of me being biased towards Izzy". Says he even made a prior prediction on BT Sports that Rob would win
- "Izzy was doing enough to win the rounds. Robert was doing just enough to NOT win the rounds"
- "One of the adjustments that he could have made was to use his right hand more"
- "As a man that's been around the sport, has his life so entrenched in the UFC - this is my life, UFC mixed martial arts is my fucking expert subject, simple as that... I don't think that I have the answer to everything, but Robert I think when he watches that fight will say 'Shit, I should have thrown that right hand a little bit more!'"
- "Whereas Adesanya on the flip was using all eight limbs..." Referring to Rob, says "A little more variation is what I was calling for!"
- "...and by the way, all you haters out there that are talking shit, the judges agree with everything I said!"
- Says that he will still watch the fight again to see if he made any mistakes, and like he always does when hearing a bad review of his work, he will try to get better and learn.
- He's heard of people saying he's just being a shill for the UFC, that he's just doing what he's told, (uses Khabib meme "Numbah 1 bullshit"), but the UFC HAS NEVER TOLD HIM WHAT TO SAY IN HIS COMMENTARY, we're all out of our goddamn minds
- sometimes there might be a suggestion from producers, but there never was an instance of the UFC inserting its opinion via the commentators.

Appreciate the balls to address this by Ping, but still, sounds like damage control to me. Izzy throwing and landing leg kicks almost exclusively is "variation"? And you're denigrating those Whitaker jabs which were probably the most effective strikes in the fight? Ehhhhhh

But fuckin hell, Bisping is on Sherdog.

Thanks for the post and cliffs, that's a lot of work!

Anyways, I thought Bispings commentary was absolutely abysmal in the Cannonier vs Brunson and Adesanya vs Whittaker fights.
He should honestly be embarrassed and hopefully UFC had a talk with him, but I doubt it.

This comes from someone who usually likes his commentary compared to the other norms.

The worst part about commentary like he had is that it heavily influenced viewers opinions. It was the exact same in the Volk vs Holloway 2 fight, just a little worse recently imo.

Yeah did you see how busted Adesanya's face was because of those jabs? Crazy shit.

As opposed to Robert, since I've been told Adesanya didn't throw a strike the whole fight:

I don't get why people are so mad at Mike. He called it like he saw it, and I think he's right

Isn't he right though. What I'm alway seeing with this MMA standup is they're all focused on Boxing. OMG a new Boxing coach is training him that trained top fighters in Boxing! Boxing is the art of fighting with just hands handicapping yourself. I mean hands do come more natural for people then only fighting with your legs but it's effectively handicapping yourself. Izzy has extra layers to his game. Low kicks, Knees, Clinch, Counters, High kick variations, Good all around weapons from hands to the feet.

Bobby is basically using the same couple setups in his Boxing and that leaning high kick he does. He does it well, but Izzy has just so much more weapons that Bobby never developed. You can't expect to outpoint the champion kickboxer that way. He'll just pick you apart with different techniques layering all his attacks. He vary between head body and legs and just outpoint you and make it awkward and hard to counter back if you're tagged. If the only thing he can use is his left hand because his right hand will get countered then Izzy is just a superior striker. Your boxing based game got shutdown to only a left hand while he can safely throw the kitchen sink at you if he just manages wild left hooks coming his way.

Bisping was sucking on Izzy's tit before the fight, hence his bias towards Izzy

Would be nice if he was like this during the fight instead of 'izzy won that round HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!'

Izzy's leg kicks were more effective than Robert's jab. Pretty obvious if you watch the fight.

Pretty positive the strike Izzy dropped Whittaker with was the most effective strike of the fight
That's just, like, your opinion man. Cecil peoples told me leg kicks don't win fights, bruh

Personally everything he said durring the fight was mostly correct by my measure but it was NOT what good unbiased commentary sounds like

You're welcome Shermano. Just glad to be of service

I didn't think the commentary was biased, but DC and Bisping have a hard time scoring a fight. The rules changed in 2017, it's damage now, not control or takedowns that amount to nothing.

For the commentary it's maybe best to leave the scoring alone. They are already doing the play-by-play. Takes the focus.

Right, lol.

Who is this phantom producer, and who does he receive his “suggestions” from?

giphy.gif
producers typically give you thing like stats, and will tell you stuff like "mention is 92% take down defense at MW" or "fighterX just passed fighterY in all times strikes"

I swear I heard him say he won't give predictions on fights he calls as its unprofessional but he apparently picked Rob to win this fight?

Love Bis but he's had a stinker this week. He was too obsessed with who was winning the fight on the weekend rather than just calling the action.
I don't think he knew he was calling the fight when he made the prediction. use your head.
