I don't always like Bill Maher
but I thought this was spot on

as an outsider, one thing I never understood is how people with good wholesome Christian values suddenly started backing a New York billionaire playboy who is the total antithesis of everything they stand for.

is it that the Vice President is evangelist?
or is he really such a darn good con artist?

As long as our guns are safe and baby jesus

Which politician within the last 50 years has not been the anti-thesis of good christian values?

I think this exposes that 80% of the voting electorate are very low info.

The Apprentice shaped more views of Donald Trump, then all the news combined.

Might have to watch to see what Bob Reich had to day.

Wacky Christian here who believes in wacky superstitions and ways of the old world.

The reasons for those who support seem to be:

1. Fear they are losing their culture and core values to a society that at best tolerates their beliefs, and more often is trying to undermine their culture and core values.

In that fear the "strong horse" who came out above the other Republicans seemed to still be better to the left, which driven by radicals, is not going to do good things for believing Christians.

I sympathize with this, although have many disagreements.

2. Anger, take the same factors, but instead you buy into The Donald as a figure who is "flawed" but will fight as a champion for "The Kingdom," and often you want to see the enemies of Christendom driven away.

I do not so much sympathize with this, and have much deeper, serious disagreements I have made a thread about.

Potential Warning to Potential Haters: Please do not "kill the messenger." Any angry, bigoted, or otherwise snarling, sarcastic, or related bitter comments will not be answered.

I am just trying to give some perspective, and I am sorry ahead of time if anyone is disagrees and is offended.

Funny bit, other than the part where Bill portrays Nancy and Hillary as just a couple of harmless grandmothers.

All this time, and Bill is still stumping for Hillary. He still takes great offense to anyone even suggesting that the DNC fucked Bernie over. Killer Mike triggered him pretty good last night.

Bill - "You had two choices. How could you not vote for Hillary?"

Mike - "Principles"

Bill - :rustled:

And again the reason he won was Hillary and the the social and legal direction she wanted to take the country.

I'm not much of a religious guy so that played no part.

Hillary and the party basicly told the center right to fuck off we are going to do what we want and fuck you.

So that was the choice when it came down to the vote.

Donald is no great win and without the republicans in Congress he would be all over the map. I don't trust him on the 2nd but he's a hell of a lot better then the direction Hillary and the democrats would have taken. This goes for the social issues as well.

Except you guys poisoned your own well by supporting a man so bad he’s causing state politics to shift. So good job, you voted into office a man antithical to your own ideals whose mere presence ensures the continued weakening of your preferred party. If Hillary had won, the gop would have a lockdown on states currently on the verge of flipping blue
