Law Bill Gates is coming for your poop. Scientists say human waste is suitable as fertilizer

Ronny Jackson is steaming about his steamers!
If you have poop in your cold dead hands what does anyone really want to know the full story?

Dude we use human shit to generate electricity. Why not use some waste to make something else?
Power gen is fine, because the poop is incinerated. Wish the US would greatly expand waste-to-power generation capacity. Using poop - specifically human poop - as fertilizer is a whole different thing though.

They already do this at our local wastewater treatment plant. It's a non story. Yawn.
They use treated human poop as fertilizer?

Composting toilets have been around for a while. I've used one before. Only ever knew one person that actually had one.

It's kind of a weird concept that most people aren't enthusiastic about exploring. It's more of a homesteading kind of thing.

Oh I know the RV industry has been using them for decades, but never heard about it being used as fertilizer for food (for human consumption)

Not mine. Most of the time mine would look like a frozen brown plate or saucer. That'd be hard work. I'll be honest I wouldn't know where to start with it.

Your shit looks like a plate when it comes out bruh? You might wanna get that checked out!

From my cold, dead hands

I say we cut out the middle man. I volunteer to shit straight onto Bill Gates dinner plate. Will charge extra for the product from a night of drinking Crown Royal though.

Other than that, why wouldn't it be?

That's why I shit in the neighbour's garden when I'm walking home late. It's not because I strongly dislike him ever since he was a prick about his gutters draining into my garage - on the contrary, quite the opposite. I'm just helping his flowers bloom more beautifully. Sometimes you have to give a little back.

You sir, are a philanthropist

I can remember when I lived in Illinois, in the middle of farm country, sometimes the farmers would use natural fertilizer. The area could smell awful for awhile after that. Some I knew would joke that Illinois stinks in more ways than one.

Apparently natural fertilizer isn't nearly as good at growing crops as man made fertilizer. that is what Sri Lanka found out the hard way recently. To be green, and receive money from big banks the island countries government outlawed artificial fertilizer. All that could be used was natural fertilizer instead. That didn't work out well. Far less food was being produced using natural fertilizer, leading to starvation, high inflation, and resulting in people storming and overthrowing the government.

Some info on that ~

Lomborg: Want to alleviate world hunger? Ditch the organics

In Asia it is common for farmers to fertilize rice paddies and other crops with bovine dung. Farmers just let cattle roam and poop in the paddies / fields.

Yeah I bet he’s gonna take our shit for free and make a profit out of it. Tired of regular folk giving to billionaires with no compensation.

Probably strike some deal with a municipalities sewer department, then it’s just raining money.
