Is that Durability is probably the most underrated quality a fighter can have. I'd take that over A-level athleticism anyday.

The capacity to handle hard shots, remain composed and switch to autopilot and change levels when in danger are all integral components to MMA that a fighter simply can't do without. Great stuff from Nate, a true display of mixed martial arts.

Conor has a solid chin and deserves a lot of credit for fighting Nate in the pocket like that. That could have been the best boxing match-up the UFC has ever had. But when it came down to just raw boxing Nate's patient volume striking eventually won out.

Honestly as a huge McGregor nutthugger here on these forums I really can't say anything; no excuses. The weight and the range weren' the story: Conor just wasn't as durable and paid a heavy price for it. I haven't seen a single fighter successfully stand in the pocket with the Diaz brothers and I initially thought Conor was gonna be the first to do it after the first round. But when Conor ate that left down the middle, was clearly stunned and went for the desperate TD I knew he was in deep trouble. Couple that with the ground game disparity and Conor simply couldn't afford to be put into a bad position like that and was quickly dispatched.

Overall a rather anti-climatic end to this hypetrain but perhaps for the best. Even I was getting a bit sick of the hyperbole being spouted. Still a fan and supporter to the end and I'm confident he'll continue his success when he defends his title.

War Conor. War Nate. Great night of fights.

Nate is the TOUGHER fighter who has faced much bigger and tougher opposition overall than Conor. He out-toughed him and outfought him. His will was stronger.
