Carmouche isn't a no name fighter, she was already being lined up to be Ronda's next opponent.
Maybe some casual fans didn't know who she was but most knowledgeable fans are very familiar with Liz.
 
Machida does not deserve a shot anyway.
Hendo got screwed when he had to fight Machida for a shot he already deserved.

Nick on the other hand is going to get embarrassed. He is the big loser here.
 
I find it pretty weak that they are letting her headline a PPV. They should stick them on the FX cards or something until they are a bit better known as from what I've seen the majority of MMA fans aren't happy about this.

Your opinion about the fight is null and void after you've already payed for the ticket. If you dont support this fight, then you should do so by not buying a ticket.
 
When Hendo/Machida was signed, it was signed as a 3-rounder. I think it's a mistake not making it a 5-rounder, but a 3-round fight does favor Hendo. However, it looks even worst with Rousey headlining a fight which features two legends at LHW fighting a 3-round fight that deserves to be a main event. Imagine if 5-round non-title main events were instituted back in 2007, Sherdog would explode with Wand/Chuck being relegated to a 3-round co-main event.

I haven't seen anything official. But there are currently 3 or 4 threads right now with Ariel Helwani tweeting that Dana told him that Diaz is probably next because that is what GSP wants..

the losers are those who cannot find happiness when they get 3 great fights.

so Hendricks has to fight one more time. he'll likely win and get a title fight, and by 2015 no one will remember or care either way. such is life.

Dude Im sorry I forgot I was on an MMA message board. I personally have seen many of Liz's fights. I meant that as the casual fan has never heard of her. Most of my friends who love MMA dont know more than 25 of the 300 fighters in the UFC by name. But obviously when Carmouche headlines a UFC PPV lots of viewers I would say over 95% will be watching her fight for the first time.

Although to be honest I am annoyed at the prospect of Hendo/Machida being close after 3 rounds, but being over, while the new main event will probably end in 1.
 
Wait what happened to Hendricks?!? I heard the other two but nothing about him.
