Bigger than McGregor vs. Diaz

LMAO, Nick fans are up there with Fedor fans in terms of delusion. Mind if I use some of this for a comedy skit?

With just ONE good win, Nick would have a legitimate claim to a title shot with Robbie. Fans would fucking love to see that, and I don't think anybody would argue that it'd be a great fight again.

Even as a huge Nick fan, I can't justify giving him Lawler just yet. He does need at least 1 win first. But a good win. And fighting the Gunner Nelson's of the world is not gonna get him there.

Maybe a rematch with Condit or something would do it? idk but either way, I have always said and still say Nick would beat Robbie again, even at this point. I want to see it. But like I said, he does need a win before getting the shot. And beating Gunner Nelson does nothing for him.

Nick isn't good enough to beat Condit, Nick won't fight anybody that isn't a guaranteed win.

He's not too bad on the feet at all,

There is a difference to being underrated and having a chance against a fantastic boxer like Nick Diaz. Reach plays a huge factor in boxing and Nick leverages it better than most people - just look at what he did to BJ Penn, I could see Nelson handed a similar fate and BJ is a great inside boxer, maybe not as wild and flashy as Nelson but you get the point - he was battered.

Oh for sure. I think Nick takes that fight as well i just find it interesting how Gunnar is still taken for granted w/ striking.

Still refused, no matter the excuse he gave.
I honestly think this fight only depends on Gunni's cardio, he took down every oponent he's faced so far, even. Story and Maia, but got tired pretty quickly in these fights, he even looked gassed in the Tumenov bout, but in there he still secured the takedown
Good luck taking a guy down with his arms extended in your face from the next street.

Nick refused Gunnar, he hasn't won a fight in 4 years so he wants an easy return fight to call for a title shot. Gunnar would beat Diaz badly in todays world and I'm not a Nelson fan really.

He was taken down by smaller guys than Gunni
Who has a ground game like Gunni?

Nick over commits when he's comfortable, not sure he'll do that against Nelson and he's not got such a deficit in his BJJ against Nelson that he could not get back to his feet without getting tapped - after all BJ had his back and Nick got out.

Its a bad matchup for Nelson overall, especially considering nick is unlikely to get tired. If Nelson works on his kicks a lot more then that could change dramatically, if he could work those kicks and slow down the press of Nick he could get a trip in as Nick readjusts his distance.

BJ has a excelent ground game and still took down Diaz.

I'm not saying in any means that he'll get tap, Nick is a legit black belt, but Gunnar's ground game is based on getting top control, getting dominant positions and working slowly until the opponent gives enough space for a choke. Penn's ground game is more to get a submission quickly. Nick might get back up, since Tumenov did, but I think the time spent on the ground will be enough to secure the round.

That's why on a 3 rounder I give an advantage to him

Diaz McGregor 3 coming soon.

TUF: America vs. Ireland starring coaches Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz

If Nate loses, you know this is going down.

He's been earning that shit for his whole career, homie. There's a reason he's one of the most popular fighters ever amongst the hardcore fanbase.

And he gets a pass for not beating Anderson, who was a bigger man, a GOAT, and on steroids to boot. That's understandable. And Nick STILL didn't almost get ktfo like Bisping did against Andy.

And he gets a pass against GSP. Because GSP beats everybody he ever fought. GSP's style is the worst possible style against Nick. But even so, Nick did manage to stuff more GSP TD's than anybody else in history (yet some people still claim he has shitty TDD, whatever) and he managed to bust GSP up with some good shots in that one. But it was a loss.

Nick fucking beat Condit, let's not lie. He got robbed. He "arguably" beat Condit, who "arguably" beat the current WW champ Lawler. It's hard for me to consider that a knock against Nick.

So there's an excuse for every Nick Diaz loss?

Sounds legit.

Wow.

He's pretty much undefeated.

Refresh my memory, how many times did he fight in those 4 years, and against who exactly did he lose?
So much excuses, why don't you just tell me why Nick can't win a fight?
