Bigger fall from grace: Barao Or Woodley?

Never any good? He was UFC champ at WW and defended his title multiple times.
I mean either you're saying the UFC is full of bums or you're being slightly biased against Woodley.
Well you can look into his record and see it's not all that impressive. Winning the title and defending it multiple times isn't ALWAYS what it seems. when looking through an objective lens of nuances, you can see his record is not very strong. just a few key points

- wins the title off lawler who had many wars on his path to becoming champion
- should have lost his first title fight to wonderboy
- Second fight I personally scored a draw
- Maia fight is the worst ww title fight ever
- Very impressive win over darren till, but as time has gone on we see exactly how good till is, even when he got that shot he got it off an iffy decision against stephen thompson.

That's his title reign 1 impressive title shot against till who probably didnt even deserve it in the first place. It's a great title defense though because till was younger and undefeated. that's as good as a title defense can get most times. and yeah, all of his losses look the same. him back pedaling not doing enough.

So, you’re going by the story of the guy who was knocked out and trying to save face? The guy had his shirt off and was swinging wildly. Btw, I saw the other video. You’re simply going by your own interpretation to do damage control in favor of Penn.

Anyway, I’m done rehashing the same subject.
I WATCHED IT ON VIDEO. are you brain dead? "story"? wtf. He literally said "HIT ME" a bunch of times before the guy did. Then I watched him come to and take the guy down, mount him, and pound him out. Then I saw an interview with someone else who was there, who said that they have known each other for a long time, but had too much to drink. the fuck? you're literally just a penn hater who doesnt want reality to be reality.

saw this thread a couple days ago.

came back yesterday and saw a "bigger downward spiral, Chuck or Woodley?"

couldn't find this one for some reason and thought I was crazy, like I knew the first one wasn't about Chuck lol

Woodley by far, and especially painful for him because it was all in the spotlight. Unlike Barao, the UFC was happy for it because Woodley was boring and unlikable and Dana was tired of his BS.

cody no dad is a tempting write-in choice, but his fall is still incomplete. He's only 30! He has so much further to fall and would almost certainly get knocked clean out by basically any flyweight or bantamweight in existence. Gonna be dope

To be fair to Woodley he didn't really fell off as much as others got better. This is the same guy who got pounded out by Nate Marquardt. Barao on the other hand, not even resembling his former self.

Sort of curious how many people ITT who said Woodley has the worst downward spiral ever ALSO said Colby deserved a title shot with a lone win over that guy in the middle of that downward spiral

Easily Woodley. It was large and in public. For the most part, unless you are big into MMA nobody knows who Barao is.

Woodleys loss to Usman, that was embarrassing, he got
Woodley got knocked the fuck out by some dude from YouTube.

Is there even a comparison?

If you look at the comparisons closer you clown, its not like Paul's been doing nothing but post on YouTube all day, smart fucker, knows the new era of marketing, dudes been training hard ass boxing only for 4-5 years straight, get the fuck out of here that he was a total gumby lol.

BJ Penn. But to answer your question TS I think Barao's fall is worse since he was on such a crazy win streak and in GOAT talks. He had a much higher position to fall from. Tyron's is bigger though since it was to a "youtuber" even though that youtuber has been training boxing much longer and was much larger and younger. He is a gifted athlete he wrestled in high school in Ohio who take it pretty serious. so it's not like he was new to competing. Could be debated either way though honestly. But I'm going with Woodley between the 2.
Yea people on sherdog seem to forget get what an embarassment and overrated bum BJ Penn is. He is by far the biggest darling here, people have an absolutely illogical opinion of his career.

I really thought Barao was going to be a dominant champion for years to come. Obviously that didn't happen.

Lmfao shut the fuck up you and Richard Johnson and your cobly obsession LOL Colby earned an interim title that he never lost. He earned a title shot when he beat maia and had to win 2 more times he practically earned 2 title fights before he got his first chance Woodley only had two losses and hadn't been finished. Of course til he met Colby the first man to finish Woodley in the UFC which was still a top 5 fight. Colby deserved it the most of any contender Usman has fought yet. And THANK GOD he did because he's the only one that can give Usman a competitive fight. As proven by both of his fights against usman.

Thread has nothing to do with Colby and has zero mention of him. Honestly just goes to show how obsessed Conor/Colby/whoever haters are so much more annoying than their fan base

That was a long angry message with the majority of it unrelated to what I was talking about (a title shot with a single win over a losing streak Tyron). Relax/no need to be so defensive.

Lmfaooooo #obsessed

woodley was ufc champ at 36 then lost four fights, precedes to make millions
barao got his shit pushed in at 27 and is now fighting on a card and against an opponent who both do not exist on wikipedia
i would rather be woodley now than barao in five years
