Bigger fall from grace: Barao Or Woodley?

I watched the entire thing on video. but sure, random guy who didnt, tell me more about what REALLY HAPPENED! sherdog is fucking retarded.

He had an altercation with another patron. That was not play acting between friends.

As for Sherdog, it’s full of knee jerk reactions like yours, so you kind of proved your own point.

Strange to see so many MMA fans shitting on Woodley. He started tailing off close to 40 years old. It happens. I'm sure Barao would have been closer to 30 when the wheels came off.
Yes he had a lot more fights but Barao was considered one of the P4P best in the world.
I don't think Woodley ever reached those heights.
I get the impression that a lot of MMA fans shitting on Woodley don't actually seem to know an awful lot about fighting.
I mean Mike Tyson losing to Kevin McBride and Danny Williams, that was bad, real bad but that's what happens when you are washed.
Prime Woodley was a specimen and could have KO'd anyone at WW on a good night.
It doesn't matter If he gets knocked out by Christina Aguilera, it doesn't take away what he achieved in one of the most brutal sports I've ever watched.

you're boosting him big time. Tyron isn't som ko machine who has he kod in the UFC? Koscheck, lawler, dhk? Hes always been the most boosted and overrated UFC champions. He doesnts even have a 5 fight win streak in the ufc. Only one impressive title defense. All of his losses look the same. Going as far back as McDonald and sheilds. Backing up doing nothing and being content with losing

Barao fell off from GOAT candidate to has-been in a terrible way. USADA appeared, he got derailed, and ultimately kept going when his mind wasn't in it and accumulated a bunch of losses. Nothing we haven't seen before with others like BJ Penn or Chuck Lidell. Plus, there was no media circus around the whole affair, which makes it less notable.

Nothing will ever ever top Woodley's disgrace, there's no comparison.

Some tards think that was fixed....

lol I never said it was "play acting" but he did know the guy from long before. he wasnt telling him to hit him playing around, he told him to hit him because they were heated / drunk and he probably didnt think he was going to do it. I watched the whole thing on video and saw him talk about it. he also came to right after and mounted the guy because it pissed him off that he hit him while he had his hands down like that. separate video. everything I said is true. you have no idea what you're talking about. why do people talk about shit like this when they dont know?

Woodley released a song called "I'll Beat Yo Ass" 4 years ago and has yet to beat a single ass since.

Barao may have a rougher career ending, but Woodley is embarrassing himself in front of a much larger audience across multiple platforms and activities. At least he's getting paid.

Barao is probably still washing his clothes in his bathtub.

Woodley got KO’d by a youtuber who started training three years ago. Three! Not five or six years ago which would make it acceptable, but three years ago is when Paul put on the gloves to train seriously for the first time. And that guy beat him in a decisive decision, and brutally KO’d him, in the same year.

Nothing tops that in levels of fall from grace and embarrassment.

So, you’re going by the story of the guy who was knocked out and trying to save face? The guy had his shirt off and was swinging wildly. Btw, I saw the other video. You’re simply going by your own interpretation to do damage control in favor of Penn.

Anyway, I’m done rehashing the same subject.

While both are amazing turn of careers, IMHO Barao was worse.
Bigger win-streak, bigger fall from grace.
And it's not like he was fighting just killers.
Renan lost to the likes of Brian Kelleher, Andre Ewell, Luke Sanders or Douglas Silva de Andrade...

So Woodley might have lost 4 straight, but those were killers who went to fight for the belt (or are about to)....

Well I guess it depends on your measuring stick. If we are talking sporting substance, then yes, Barao. If we are talking wide spread public humiliation then I think we have to go with Woodley. Far more people know of his fall than Barao's.

yes, but that's just because Woodley was more recent.

But Woodley was losing to monsters. Barao was losing against unranked opponents.
Woodley was 7 fights "unbeaten" (though one fight was a draw).
Barao was on a 33 fights unbeaten (though one was a NC).

The more I compare, the more Barao's fall looks far worse IMO

I did say I didn't think Woodley ever reached the heights Barao did.
I also stand by what I said about his KO ability.
Lawler isn't exactly chinny and can still take punishment, as he hasn't been stopped since.
I find that some MMA fans think that by saying he was never any good it makes the Paul result easier to take.

Barao was a greater champion and fighter than Woodley. The latter was of course really good but certainly overrated as champ so he didn't have the same height to fall off from. What he does after his MMA career when he's already fallen off and probably isn't taking things nearly as seriously doesn't say as much, it's just more in the public eye.

There it is, folks. The question we all wanted to know. Should have a poll. Will it be Borao or Woodley? Woodley had a big fall.

lmao yeah right woodley got his hands on lawler after back to back ways with mcdonald and condit.

And, No woodley was never really any good and you can look at his title history to prove it, I've made this claim LONG before paul flatlined him.

Never any good? He was UFC champ at WW and defended his title multiple times.
I mean either you're saying the UFC is full of bums or you're being slightly biased against Woodley.

Barao was literally off a cliff.

Woodley seemed to follow the path of many previous champions. Weird comparison here imo, Barao is in a class of his own when it comes to 'WTF happened to you mate?'
