I cant remember any former champion/top fighter looking this bad since Jens Pulver. Granted he hasnt been looking too good lately and Roy Nelson wasnt the best match up for him but he could not have performed much worse.

I was the biggest Nog supporter and always had faith in him, and hated the people constantly calling for his retirement, but I have to say there is no excuse anymore. If he doesnt retire now Im afraid something really bad will happen. It may be too late already.

Funny how old school guys like Shogun And Dan Henderson can still hang with the best of them but Big Nog and before him Crocop ended up as punching bags in the UFC.

When you chin and movement is gone you are toast.

he wasn't looking too bad in his last fight previous to today, but Werdum f*ed up his arm real good and, from what I've read, it was a very long and difficult road to recovery.

add to that his previous injuries...

I also read somewhere he had some problems with his coordination like Muhammed Ali had but cant remember where or what exactly...

Chuck and Tito had worse downslides.

Chuck lost 5 of his last 6 and was KOed 4 times in that period

Tito won 1 of his last 9 fights.

Plenty of former champs have had worse endings to their careers.

Nog won his Pride belt in 2001. He lost it in 2003. He won a UFC belt in 2008. That was a long time ago

He looked exactly like he did in the Tim Sylvia fight. If Nog could fight then, he can still fight. He just has to stop pretending he's a good boxer and start taking guys down.

Shit.. i hope not. Scary stuff.

I don't know if you remember but Nog was beat on so bad before one of his eyes was going blind. It changed colors back in 2006. The guy is a frakenstein and it is amazing that he has held on this long.

Wow, really? Not even close... Chuck, Crocop, Wand and even Fedor had far worse downslides... Nog's fall has been more... well, steady...

Nog has been done for years. Nelson was lame to even accept the fight. Beat a human punching bag who probably already has irreversible brain damage.

I think Chuck's the worst.

He didn't look 60 in his fights like Rodrigo, but the viciousness and abudance of his KO's at the end made him particularly hard to watch.

Hughes, Liddell, Fedor, etc...nobody is immune. And honestly, considering Nog has been alternating wins and losses in the UFC for many years, I'd say his downfall hasn't been nearly as bad as some of the other top guys from his generation. Truth, he declined a LONG time ago. The fact tht he's been able to compete at a relatively high level in spite of his physical decline is a testament to his ability as a fighter.

cmon big nog , retire already its over . i was happy to make my $100 on him today . easiest bet ever but enough is enough

Miguel "I'll fight 155ers in the UFC" Torres who was p4p and then not even a gatekeeper for WSOF.

Titos "downslide" started the moment that he faced good competition. No less, no more
