It's time.........
Leon vs. Belal. Here is my official pre-fight analysis + prediction.
This is an interesting match-up. Two of the best welterweights will be fighting tonight. Both tacticians. And both massively improved since their first bout. (I've spoken about this match-up in another thread in case you sherbros are interested.)
**Side note: I don't really like the name 'Belal'. I prefer Billy, so I will be calling Belal 'Billy' from now on**
First things first, let's talk appearances.
Both fighters have huge noggins. Neither fighter is attractive to me. Leon looks like Sonny from I, Robot and Billy looks like a hairy Mr Potato Head. Personally, attractiveness is a big factor for me. I'm far more likely to root for handsome fighters than I am ugly ones. I also enjoy looking at male fighters bodies during weigh-ins (not in a gay way).
By far, Leon has the superior physique. He has a cute small waist which I can easily wrap my strong arms around and cuddle while whispering 'headshot dead' into his ear.
Leon probably has the best v-taper physique I've seen, not just in MMA, but everywhere. A thick wide back, big delts and good arms. Huge quads too. The only thing letting Leon's physique down is his small calves. Leon is definitely fight ready.
Billy has a more stocky, sturdy type physique. Billy looks strong and shredded, but I think he might be too small for welterweight. No one ever mentions this but Leon is huge for WW. I don't know how strong Billy is, but I think he will struggle to manhandle Leon the same way Kamaru did.
In terms of fight IQ and discipline, Billy has the advantage. Billy has a very high fight IQ and has the discipline to not make stupid mistakes during fights. Leon has a history of making dumb decisions (e.g., taking Colby down, getting points deducted, eye-poking to a NC, etc).
I don't think Leon is a smart man. Most of the time he speaks unintelligible English and his vocabulary is limited to just two words: "Headshot, dead". Billy is delusional half the time but sometimes you have to be when you're a fighter.
Both fighter have improved since their first bout. I think it will end in a decision. Either a UD win for Leon or a SD win for Billy.
Final prediction: SD win for Billy.
