Crime biden and other dems lied about checks

Weird to me to see liberals calling people stupid (the mechanics of that have been delved into by others), but I'd ask, what dumber - thinking $2k checks post $600 means an additional 2k or not being very specific with your language as a politician to avoid this fiasco?

Also being generous and assuming for the sake of discussion that they meant 600 + 1400 (and weren't intentionally shady with the language and planned on making good on some amount at all) and that immediately means "at some point, whenever, maybe, and you should've know that".

Best case scenario assuming nothing but sincerity and misunderstanding are all that's afoot here, if it's the people that are stupid then that means the Dems are incompetent and can't words very well (on either "immediately" or $2000), handing easy material to the GOP

Bernie hasn't gone without criticism on my end.

I called it back in 2016 that if Bernie or Warren were to actually win the nomination or come close, the fake left would turn on them because it's not about trying to achieve any goals. It's just ideology as identity.

Me: Hey I don't want to vote for the dude who wrote a crime bill that was responsible for a massive uptick in incarceration of black men.

You'll be glad to know that the evidence doesn't support that claim, then. Or, no, you'll just find some way to dismiss the evidence.

You: So you don't care if the right wing wins?

Me: I do the best I can with mutual aid efforts and directly impact the lives of the poor around me.

You: I give more lmao you're just a poser

I got you Jack. It's all virtue signaling from my end. Enjoy the endless war, poverty, and famine you voted for.

Remember, bipartisanship is important so the people get less and the corporations get more.

Fucking weenie.

Bipartisanship is a symbolic thing, and I'm specifically disavowing symbolist bullshit. I want to see policy enacted that actually helps people; not just show how interesting and left-wing I am, the way you do.

So... you subscribe to a newsletter? Good for you?.......

???

I am upfront earlier in the thread I always took the "$2000 check" argument to mean an additional $1400.

Yeah, that's what the argument is about.

But they're taking their sweet fucking time hemming and hawing over this shit while even people that haven't lost their jobs are suffering and struggling.

Biden hasn't even been in office two weeks!

All of your bullshit aside, we agree then? We both want to see policy that benefits the people?

Don't get why you bring up a link to sign up for a newsletter.

Biden hasn't even been in office two weeks!
That's nice. He's been in office for two weeks and signed more EOs than the last 5 presidents combined did in their first 3 months in just 2 weeks.

He said immediate, the two Senators in the run off said "immediate". I have said over and over I am willing to grant them a couple days. People need to be sworn in and officially take office. No one even in the real world gets to work on their first day and immediately is fully up to speed.

That said... it took them two weeks to even begin DISCUSSING it and if the last 12 months have been anything to use as a basis... we ain't gonna see shit for relief until middle of March when people are struggling NOW. So the fucking constant talking of immediate and shit maybe they should make an actual effort to be as close to immediate as they can.

They are basically the guy cooking sausages from the beginning of Snatch right now:

"It was 2 minutes 5 minutes ago....."

I get our system is inefficient, almost by design. But the fact that Biden has that fuckface moron dipshit silver spoon having motherfucker Mitt Romney as the token Republican negotiator means we're going to get fucked.

All of your bullshit aside, we agree then? We both want to see policy that benefits the people?

No, I have seen no evidence that you want to see policy that benefits people or that you care or know anything about policy at all. Even in this thread, you're pretending that Biden is some evil monster because he's pushing for $2,000 checks (as part of a much bigger relief package). But if he'd lost, none of that would be on the table, and you would be attacking anyone who criticized Trump's response.

Don't get why you bring up a link to sign up for a newsletter.

Recommending that if people are interested in doing good with their money, there's some good resources to look at. And pointing out that it's an issue that I've given thought to.

That's nice. He's been in office for two weeks and signed more EOs than the last 5 presidents combined did in their first 3 months in just 2 weeks.

OK, so he's getting a lot done, and that means we should flip out that he hasn't signed a bill that hasn't come to him yet?

Dude, relax. You're not five years old. Bills like this take a couple of weeks. They're on it, and it'll pass. Criticize it then.

Biden had time to get mentally ill men into women's sports but not to help out financially struggling Americans during a pandemic and people wonder why youre getting impatient. This is funny reading man.

Except he's not really getting a lot done for the people that supposedly came out in record numbers for him.

THE FACT THAT BILLS LIKE THIS TAKE A COUPLE WEEKS IS WHY THE DEBATE SHOULD HAVE STARTED ON THE 25th OF JANUARY THE FIRST FULL WEEK OF HIS PRESIDENCY RATHER THAN A FULL WEEK AFTER THAT!

HELL, he could lean on Schumer to do the budget reconcillation which basically would FORCE it to a vote but has shyed away from the nuclear option he has available to him.

The "dude, relax... this takes time" shows you've never actually lived paycheck to paycheck trying to decide between toothpaste and gas for your car to GET to work or dinner for a day. I, even though I wear a suit to work, HAVE FUCKING DONE THAT. I can't imagine what others are going through who are on limited hours, have had their jobs lost so on and so forth.

It's fucking stupid and reads of "I've never struggled"

Normally I can at least get along with Jack even though I have differing views but this sounds like I'm debating with a fuckface like Romney who has never wanted for shit.

Oh sorry my policy positions haven't been clear?

Universal healthcare
Guaranteed housing
End the endless wars
Free education
$20+ minimum wage
Major cuts to the military and Pentagon budgets
Defund the police

Do none of those policy positions help people? Have you not ever read a post where I've been clear about this?

Of course you have. But you love being the "smartest guy in the room", but it turns out you're fucking retarded.

I’ve been lucky to keep my job but due to past mistakes..... $2000 would give me a serious leg up on killing off debt I have. Hell, even 1400 would do that.

That’s not what this bailout is for though. I would have rather they suspended income tax. That would have helped the economy much more and would have helped persuade people to keep working instead of sitting around drawing unemployment.

Trump signed that didn't he? I know he tried to use it almost like a bribe to get re-elected but my job kept taking out my payroll tax.

And stopping income tax only helps those that still have a job. Pretty sure UEI bonuses are due to run out soon again and people that drive like Uber and other ride services or food delivery stuff may not qualify for UEI as they haven't actually been laid off... they just might not be working as much do to concerns about getting sick and shit.

At this rate we might get Half Life 3 before we get a influx of Biden Bucks.

Trump: 1800 bucks

Biden: We MIGHT give you an extra grand. Maybe. Sorry about the rhetoric.

Me: 2k means 2k.

Jack: 2k means 1400 or literally whatever leather they feed us.

Also Jack: You're retarded for holding politicians accountable.

Look, I don't agree with you on the rhetoric that the 2k was an extra 2k on top of the $600 Trump gave us on his way out. But that's less of my issue than them not seemingly willing to even discuss it.... And when they do the rumor is Biden is cow-towing to a fuckface like Romney to lower the amount from the already lower $1400 to $1000.

THAT'S where I take fucking issues on this.

Also, to fucking add... the concept behind "stimulus" payments is to spend the money on goods or service YOU NORMALLY WOULDN'T right? $1200, $600, $1400 is likely just being sent to landlords or utility companies for people to just live... and thus people aren't using it AS INTENDED cause it's so fucking piece meal and limited.

Newsweek had some bullshit thing about "of the last $600 check, people making more than $40k only used like $45 of it on goods or services"... YA FUCKING KNOW WHY?! THE REST OF IT WENT TO OUR LANDLORDS!

I mean, I'd love to see evidence of 1400 before the runoffs.

But also the "immediate" didn't happen either. Biden is too concerned with appeasing republicans despite having the ol' trifecta.

Biden doesn't care about people. Period.

Except he's not really getting a lot done for the people that supposedly came out in record numbers for him.

Strong disagreement here. If you want to list some metrics, we can maybe make a bet on how they turn out.

HELL, he could lean on Schumer to do the budget reconcillation which basically would FORCE it to a vote but has shyed away from the nuclear option he has available to him.

He has no leverage at all over Schumer at this point. And you know who does have a lot of leverage? The more right-leaning members of his caucus. They're working on it, and the result is going to be good. This is a huge package on top of other huge packages.

That's fine, but nevertheless it does take time to pass a massive stimulus package. It's double the size of the ARRA.

It's fucking stupid and read of "I've never struggled"

I've struggled. Not like Romney, struggling so much he had to sell some of the hundreds of thousands of stocks he was given when he turned 18, but like skipping meals and shit. And that was with rightists in gov't so I didn't get or expect any relief. But in this case, we're about to see a huge relief package, and people are screeching that it hasn't happened less than two weeks after a new president took office. It's not a reasonable complaint.
