I am sure it is probably just another online retailer with a new idea that if he has the bare bottom price for an item people will bid it up and he can see how much he can actually get from a single item. It is actually a smart way to see how much people are willing to pay for said item.

The new BidMMA.com opened with a soft launch a few hours ago.

I can't speak for the old website as that appears to have been from some years ago, but the persons behind this project are very respectable.
