I just think this is relevant because both are good strikers who fought Nate Diaz, although if I recall correctly Melvin was dusting Nate up on the feet and even dropped him, just kinda went for a stupid takedown ala Kampmann Vs Alves and got choked out. I could be remembering it wrong, but either way I remember Guillard doing better than Conor against Nate and believe he has the better Jiu Jitsu.

#1 I don't like Conor

Conor didn't lose because of a bad ground game.

He gassed out and was rock when he try the stupid takedown...

Conor has a better ground game. Not even a Q.

Better Q would be Guillard or Houston "for real" Alexander

Conor is a black belt at panic wrestling. He gets tapped half a minute after he panic wrestles. That's legit skill.

The shitty ground game was definitely a deciding factor, actually. The way he defended that choke was Melvinesque. That why I had to ask.

I would say Conors is better but not by much

Cain Velasquez also got a shitty ground game , He got choke by Werdum...

No it wasn’t. It’s like you haven’t watched anything but highlights of the finish. You’re completely disregarding the fact he was knocked silly by that point.

Guillard had been exposed continuously all along his career, got teabagged on PPV and never bothered to do anything about it. At least Conor survived several ground exchanges.

Yea, I guess Melvin did do worlds better on the feet against Nate. Still though, that's not what we are here to discuss.

Yes, Melvin was easily winning the Nate fight, then for some stupid reason went for a lazy TD and stuck his head under Nate's arm for an easy guillotine.

If Mel had kept it standing he would have had an easy decision, and Nate would likely have been cut from the UFC.

Conor has a decent ground game, Mendes and Diaz are beasts on the ground, so they made him look bad.
