Better armbar, Fedor or Ronda?

Admit it TS you started this thread to incite an E-Riot.

It looks nice, but super easy when a guy puts his arm on the mat like that. Practically gave it to Fedor.

I believe Coleman was using it to maintain position when Fedor was attempting to initiate a scramble. Fedor only needed a split second to explode with his hips to snatch that arm making it look easy.

Fyi armbarring a UFC/Pride GP/NCAA wrestling champ>>>>>> than armbarring soccer moms whose husbands are their BJJ coaches.:icon_lol:

Do you guys see this shit?
All these guys picking Ronda just proves my point on how retarded some of these people are.

(what this thread created)

Fedor armbarred giants and freaks of nature that are 50lbs heavier than him. Ronda armbarred little girls that weight less than her.

Fedor is more well rounded, but his armbar is STILL better than Ronda's.

How?

We're comparing a HW male professional fighter to a female whatever weight class she's in. This is a retarded comparison. Strictly based on which person has the more powerful dangerous armbar, obviously it's Fedor.

Might as well ask if a man is stronger than a woman.

I believe when she taught her armbar on Tuf, it was broken down into about 12 moves, which is crazy...plus she's had the armbar technique embedded into her skull for 20 years.

Fedor has sweet armbars, but has only subbed a few people with them, and I think only one Real BJJ black belt.

As far as being relative to fights, and finishes...id have to say Ronda. Hard to argue with 9 armbar subs in 11 total fights.

LOL i couldn't give two shit what anybody say or don't say on an internet forum.
But all goofing aside, I watched that fight. Olympic champs in judo and wrestling don't spend thousands of hours on every submission technique and defense, they spent all their early years training takedowns and point scoring catered to the olympics. For example, Josh Barnett submitted olympic gold medalists Nastula and Yoshida, but fails to even get positional control on "B level athletes".

Quite different in the way they happened though, when Nastula lost to Barnett, Nog and Aleks he was both very green in MMA, lost after the kind of extended positional ground fighting you just don't get in competitive Judo plus of course lost to Barnett via a move that wouldn't even be legal in most Judo comps.

Fedor took down, mounted and armbarred Owaga all inside of about 10 secs.

Outside of that as has been mentioned I think he also had matches where he was at a clear size/power disadvantage, Choi was impressive just in the sense of physically being able to put pressure on him from the bottom, Coleman the 1st time really did have to be a spilt second reversal and for me remains the best belly down armbar I'v seen in MMA.

hmmmmmm I think Fedor if it were men only, and Honda if it was only for women. Maybe they could have some form of super submission baby together? And name him Sakuraba.

I can't believe people are saying Ronda subbed better competition. Who exactly has she beat?!?

Ronda has subbed a BJJ blackbelt and has a bronze medal at the Olympics games.

Fedor is my favorite all time fighter and I have no trouble saying Ronda has a better armbar.

It is not just about competition, it is about the technique, the set up everything. Ronda can practically set up an armbar anywhere, whether it is from mount, side control, back mount, flying, or getting reversed.

I'd say Fedor.

Honorable mention: Rickson by armbar...

Fedor's opponents were usually bigger than him so there's that, Rhonda's sexier while doing it soooooo...... I call it a draw.

The way her boobs jiggle and kinda give you hope of it possibly popping out....Gotta go with Ronda against my better judgement.

I actually knew that, believe it or not. I misspoke. it happens (rarely), and I own it. i didn't count on the EndlessCritic showing up lol that's worthy of a "wow. just wow," huh? think about the words you're using here on this casual forum. was that really worthy of a "wow, just wow," or did you maybe exaggerate a bit?

I'm not trying to be petty, but I really do hear a whiny girly voice when i read those words. you sound like a bratty 16 yr old girl whose mom just asked her if she wanted to chaperone her little brother and his friend at the mall. "Really, mom? Really? Wow, just wow." that's you lol that's what you sound like. I really never thought i'd be one of these assholes to take this road on a Sherdog forum, but you need to get laid. you seem uptight, and it might shake that overzealous confrontational energy out of your system.

I've seen you bitch at many other sherdoggers for the past 20 months; you're a rude elitist. you're not unique; you're a type, like it or not. you have a desperate need for respect, which means you probably don't get much in life (or maybe you were deprived of respect during your childhood... I don't know.) i correct people everyday; i do it respectfully. that respect is often reciprocated in their responses. if i'm ever a dick, i own it and apologize. this is the paragraph that offers what little respect is due. i owe you no more , because I've seen you around and you're consistently very rude.

i know what a Russian armbar is, okay? half of those armbars were straight and from the guard (hips facing in, not out toward the legs), anyway. wow, just wow... you need to calm the fuck down.

hazelett/burkman = Russian finish (with the craziest set-up) Nog-Herman/Crocop = convential belly-down finish

It's nearly impossible to compare male and female athletes. It'd be like comparing Serena and Federer; Federer would beat her 6-0 6-0 6-0 at any point in their careers but Serena is at least close to as good as he is for a female.
